Da Nang is thirsty for specialized logistics human resources amid rapid infrastructure development.

In the context of Da Nang promoting investment in modern infrastructure, with the goal of becoming a national logistics center, an important link in the Asia-Pacific transport corridor; a paradox is emerging: high-quality human resources have not kept up with the pace of development.

Dr. Vo Duy Nghi, Chairman of the Board of Members of Amity Logistics Company, commented: “ The logistics industry in Da Nang and Vietnam in general is lacking in highly qualified, professional, knowledgeable human resources in logistics and supply chain management. Meanwhile, there is a surplus of workers who only undertake simple jobs such as warehouses, counting or customs procedures .”

Sharing the same view, Mr. To Van Hiep, Chairman of the Danang City Road Freight Transport Association, said that the city is in need of high-quality logistics human resources, while currently, most of the human resources are trained by enterprises themselves; specialized training schools for logistics are still very limited.

In reality, despite possessing infrastructure advantages with Lien Chieu port, Tien Sa port, international airport and modern warehouse network, if lacking human resources with management skills, technology mastery and global mindset, Da Nang will hardly be able to fully exploit its logistics potential.

From an educational perspective, Dr. Hoang Viet Ha, Director of Swinburne Vietnam, emphasized: " To become logistics human resources that meet the pace of global development, learners need to access international training standards, integrate technology, and practice early on ."

That poses an urgent need for close cooperation between schools and businesses, creating a practical, internship environment, helping students "rub" and accumulate experience, and confidently take on specialized positions, operating complex supply chains right after graduation.

In addition, the application of modern technology in teaching not only helps learners become familiar with advanced management tools, but also keeps up with the digitalization trend in the logistics industry. This will both solve the urgent human resource needs in Da Nang and build a logistics team with regional and international competitiveness.

Swinburne Vietnam trains logistics human resources to international standards

Responding to trends and human resource needs, Swinburne Vietnam officially opened the Logistics and Supply Chain Management program at the Da Nang campus from 2026. This is a cooperation program with Swinburne University of Technology (Australia), a university ranked in the TOP 1% of the world according to QS Rankings 2026 and meeting AACSB international accreditation standards.

Students at Swinburne Danang have early access to modern technologies such as ERP, data warehouses, AI and Machine Learning, and participate in real supply chain simulations and directly implement projects with businesses from their second year.

In addition, students also have the opportunity to intern at logistics companies, e-commerce and large manufacturing corporations in the Central region, helping to closely combine theory and practice.

In addition, students are also equipped with foreign languages, systematic thinking and soft skills, essential factors to adapt to both domestic and international working environments.

“We aim to combine theory, practice and business experience in our program to help students work effectively immediately after graduation and gradually become high-quality human resources for the region,” shared PhD Vo Thi Kim Oanh, Head of the Faculty of Business at Swinburne Vietnam (Da Nang).

In the context of logistics becoming the coordination axis of the modern economy, choosing to study this major at an international training facility right in Da Nang opens up many opportunities for students to directly access the labor market that is lacking high-quality human resources, while at the same time, participating in contributing to the development of the local economy in general and Da Nang in particular.

Swinburne Vietnam is a joint training program between Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) and FPT University. Swinburne is ranked 294th, in the TOP 1% of the best universities in the world (QS, 2026). In Vietnam, Swinburne is better known as the sponsor of the champions of the "Road to Olympia" competition for over 20 years.
