Representatives of the Cam Xuyen District People's Council discuss solutions for socio-economic development.

The 13th session of the People's Council of Cam Xuyen district ( Ha Tinh province ) aimed to evaluate the results of implementing socio-economic, national defense and security tasks in 2023; and to pass many important resolutions to achieve development goals in 2024.

On the morning of December 14th, the 20th term of the Cam Xuyen District People's Council, for the 2021-2026 term, opened its 13th session to evaluate the results of implementing socio-economic, national defense and security tasks in 2023; and to pass many important resolutions to achieve development goals in 2024.

Deputy Head of the Standing Delegation of the National Assembly of Ha Tinh Province, Tran Dinh Gia, and leaders from several departments and agencies attended.

Vice Chairman of Cam Xuyen District People's Committee Le Ngoc Ha presented a report on the socio-economic and national defense and security situation in 2023; and the goals and tasks for 2024.

In 2023, overcoming many difficulties and challenges, Cam Xuyen district achieved many outstanding results in all fields. The entire district achieved and exceeded 22 out of 25 socio-economic targets (currently, 2 targets regarding the construction of communes meeting advanced new rural standards and model new rural communes have been assessed by relevant departments and are awaiting provincial recognition).

Total production value reached over 9,700 billion VND, an increase of 13% compared to 2022 and 103% of the plan. Industry - construction , trade - services - tourism experienced high growth; agricultural production achieved comprehensive results, with the highest rice yield in the province. Land conversion continued to expand; organic agricultural production gradually demonstrated its effectiveness.

Land clearance for projects was prioritized. Rural development was also focused on. The district added one model rural commune and one advanced rural commune. Budget revenue reached over 400 billion VND, exceeding the provincial target by 35%. The fields of culture, social affairs, and healthcare saw many positive changes; national defense and security were ensured.

At the session, the Cam Xuyen District People's Council heard and commented on the following reports: the situation of budget revenue and expenditure implementation for the first 11 months, the estimated implementation for the whole year 2023, and some key tasks and solutions; proposals for budget revenue and expenditure allocation and development investment capital allocation for 2024; a submission on the public investment plan for 2024; a submission on the plan for allocating centralized capital construction budget for 2024; a report from the Standing Committee of the District Fatherland Front Committee on supervision and participation in government building in 2023 and directions and tasks for 2024...

The 13th session of the Cam Xuyen District People's Council, 20th term, will also decide on the issuance of resolutions such as: allocating the state budget revenue and expenditure estimates for 2024; approving the public investment plan for 2024; giving opinions on the plan for allocating centralized capital construction budget for 2024; adjusting and supplementing the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025; approving the Project on building and developing organic rice associated with building the Cam Xuyen rice brand for the period 2024 - 2028 and subsequent years...

The 13th session of the Cam Xuyen District People's Council, 20th term, is expected to take place over two days (December 14-15). Following the opening session, delegates will discuss and approve the resolutions of the session.

Also at this session, delegates will conduct a by-election to elect additional members of the Cam Xuyen District People's Committee; and hold a vote of confidence for 19 individuals holding positions elected by the Cam Xuyen District People's Council.
