
The exam is expected to take place on January 24 and 25, 2026, with about 25,000 candidates expected to take part, at 25 exam locations held in 11 provinces and cities including: Hanoi , Hai Phong, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Lao Cai, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Da Nang.
To support candidates in their review, Hanoi University of Science and Technology has released the eBook version "Handbook for Thinking Assessment Exam".
According to the plan of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, in 2026, this unit will organize 3 rounds of Thinking Assessment exams, starting from January. The exams will be held on weekends, each round will have 3-4 teams at the exam sites, meeting about 60,000 exam times.
After the first round, the second round will take place on March 14-15, 2026, with registration from February 5-15, 2026. The third round will take place on May 16-17, 2026, with registration from April 5-15, 2026.
Thinking assessment aims to assess three basic thinking abilities of students, including: mathematical thinking, reading comprehension thinking and scientific thinking/problem solving.
The total duration of the test is 150 minutes, including 100 multiple choice questions for 3 sections. The Mathematical Reasoning section lasts 60 minutes; the Reading Comprehension section lasts 30 minutes and the Scientific Reasoning/Problem Solving section lasts 60 minutes.
The results of the Thinking Assessment test are currently used by more than 50 higher education institutions for admission to regular universities./.
