The Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Lao Cai Province will take place in August.

On the morning of July 1, the Steering Committee of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Lao Cai Province in 2024 held a meeting to report on the progress and results of the implementation of the contents and tasks of the congress.

Comrade Giang Thi Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.

Attending the meeting were members of the Congress Steering Committee and members of the sub-committees assisting the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Lao Cai Province in 2024.

According to the report at the meeting, based on the Central's directive documents and the guidance of the Ethnic Committee, the Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to direct the congress, decided to establish a Steering Committee and a Subcommittee to assist the Steering Committee; the Standing Office and relevant agencies guided localities in implementation; localities proactively developed plans and established Steering Committees to organize implementation.

To date, 9/9 districts, towns and cities have successfully organized the district-level ethnic minority congresses. The congress took place in a solemn and exciting atmosphere and the content was carefully prepared; the delegates attending the congress were basically complete and of the right composition. The provincial congress is expected to be held in August 2024.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and agreeing on a number of contents regarding: Congress organization program; Presidium, Secretariat; propaganda, art, and celebration decoration work; exhibition space for local specialty products; emulation, rewards, and security work...

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Giang Thi Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactive spirit of the Standing Office of the Steering Committee and localities in the process of advising, directing, guiding and implementing the work of preparing for the congress to ensure compliance with the set plan.

In order for the Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress to ensure the completion of its objectives, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested: The Provincial Ethnic Committee continues to closely follow the requirements and tasks under the direction of the Ethnic Committee, review the program framework; coordinate with members of the Steering Committee to develop a specific and detailed scenario and plan for the congress; assign specific responsibilities to agencies, units and localities in coordinating, supervising and supporting the preparation of the congress.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also emphasized the role of propaganda work in affirming the Party and State's concern for ethnic minorities. Media agencies and localities need to step up information and propaganda work about the congress to create an exciting atmosphere among the people; Lao Cai Newspaper, Provincial Radio and Television Station focus on extensive propaganda, building special topics and pages to highlight typical individuals and groups in studying, working and producing in ethnic minority areas, making important contributions to socio -economic development and strengthening the great national unity bloc in the province.
