According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, thoroughly grasping President Ho Chi Minh 's thoughts on patriotic emulation, the Party and State's directive documents on innovation in emulation and rewards, clearly recognizing its position, role and responsibility, in recent years, the Vietnam Trade Union has always attached importance to, regularly paid attention to, directed and effectively organized the implementation of patriotic emulation movements among workers, civil servants and laborers.

Trade unions at all levels have organized propaganda and dissemination of the Party's directives and guidelines, the State's policies and laws on innovation in emulation and reward work, and studying Ho Chi Minh's thought on patriotic emulation, contributing to raising awareness among union members and workers about the position and role of emulation and reward work in the new situation.

The emulation work of the trade union has had many innovations in terms of content, form and implementation measures; closely combining emulation and rewards in the relationship between "sowing and harvesting". Patriotic emulation movements among workers, civil servants and laborers continue to be developed in both breadth and depth, making emulation a real lever, a great spiritual motivation, encouraging a large number of workers, civil servants and laborers to promote positivity, proactive creativity, the spirit of daring to think and dare to do, and determination to overcome difficulties to excellently complete assigned tasks.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang said that over the past 5 years, in addition to opportunities and advantages, our country has also faced many difficulties and challenges, especially the severe impact of natural disasters and epidemics. Promoting the tradition of patriotic emulation, the pioneering nature of the working class, with the spirit of "The more difficult the situation, the more we must compete", the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has effectively organized patriotic emulation movements, mobilizing and attracting millions of workers, civil servants and laborers in all industries, localities, establishments, and all economic sectors to participate, actively contributing to the cause of industrialization and modernization for the goal of building a prosperous and happy country. Through emulation movements, thousands of typical and advanced collectives and individuals have emerged, many of whom have been awarded noble forms. They are all typical examples, living proof of the patriotic tradition and revolutionary spirit of the heroic Vietnamese working class, shining examples for everyone to learn from and follow, the most beautiful flowers in the garden of "good people, good deeds".

Along with organizing and launching emulation movements, the Trade Unions at all levels have constantly innovated the content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots, increasingly better performing the task of representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers, civil servants and employees, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises. The Trade Union has promoted propaganda and mobilized union members and employees to study and improve their skills and qualifications, actively participate in social activities, gratitude activities, and contribute to support and share with the poor and people affected by natural disasters and floods; the activities of "Union Shelter", "Tet Sum Vay", union member welfare, etc. have been implemented more and more effectively, positively received and have increasingly widespread significance.

“This emulation congress is an opportunity for us to summarize and evaluate the results achieved, the advantages and disadvantages in the leadership, direction, organization of emulation movements and implementation of reward policies; draw lessons, propose directions, tasks and solutions to continue to innovate, promote emulation movements and do a good job of reward work; recognize the contributions of the emulation movement among workers, civil servants and laborers to the socio-economic development of the country; commend and honor typical advanced collectives and individuals, new factors, thereby continuing to arouse and strongly encourage the team of workers, civil servants and laborers to constantly strive, affirming their pioneering role in the cause of national innovation”, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized.

Competition in innovation and digital transformation

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Pham Dinh Duan, level 5/5 worker, Mining Workshop 14, Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin (Vietnam Coal - Minerals Trade Union), always kept in mind: "Success starts from the smallest things". From that simple thought, he has gradually asserted himself, becoming a typical example in the creative labor emulation movement of coal miners.

Entering the profession with a basic degree in underground mining, Pham Dinh Duan soon realized that to stay in the profession, miners must constantly learn, practice and be disciplined in every action. “I always ask myself every day: what have I done today and how can I do better than yesterday,” he said.

“Deep underground, sweat soaked my back, but laughter still echoed during the shift. In hardship, the miners’ spirit of ‘Discipline and Unity’ shined brighter than ever,” said Mr. Duẩn.

Having spent more than 20 years in the profession, from a new worker to Production Team Leader, Mr. Pham Dinh Duan and his teammates always take the spirit of solidarity as a guiding principle. “A strong team is one that knows how to combine the strength of each individual to progress together,” Mr. Duan shared.

Meanwhile, with more than 12,000 employees, Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. (SEV) is not only a leading enterprise in the production of electronic equipment but also a bright spot in building a culture of creativity and innovation. The movement "Good workers - Creative workers" at SEV has become a source of inspiration, pride and "spiritual glue" connecting the team of workers, engineers and staff over the years.

Sharing at the 11th National Emulation Congress of Workers, Civil Servants and Laborers, Mr. Lai Hoang Dung - Chairman of SEV Bac Ninh Trade Union affirmed: "Creativity only truly explodes when workers are inspired, trusted to experiment, transparently recognized and promptly rewarded."

According to him, for the patriotic emulation movement to truly spread widely, businesses need to focus on two core factors: arousing the creative spirit in each worker and building a comprehensive, sustainable emulation model that takes workers as the center.

At Samsung Electronics Vietnam, the spirit of creativity is nurtured through the SMART Movement - with the philosophy of "3 Up: Upgrade - Breakthrough - Reach Far". This is not only a competitive slogan but also a human development strategy, aiming at the model of workers who "dare to think - dare to do - dare to innovate".

Thanks to that, tens of thousands of ideas, whether small or large, have been encouraged, applied and brought practical value: increasing productivity, improving the working environment, optimizing production processes and contributing to strengthening SEV's position in the global value chain of Samsung Group.

Sharing on the sidelines of the congress, Mr. Lang Van Thuong (Nung ethnic group) - a worker at Cao Bang Sugarcane Joint Stock Company shared: In the past 5 years, I have always tried to research and explore to have initiatives that bring high efficiency in production and business. Specifically, I have had 3 technical improvement initiatives, bringing a profit of over 60 billion VND for the unit, recognized by the Cao Bang Provincial Science Council. During the working process, I always monitor and closely follow the production line of the unit, thereby finding the limitations of machinery and equipment to propose more optimal solutions, bringing higher efficiency, increasing labor productivity, creating higher income for workers.

“During the working process, each worker always tries to achieve high productivity, ensuring stable income. From there, research effective solutions to bring higher efficiency,” Mr. Thuong shared.

At the Congress, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor recognized 37 collectives and 43 individuals as outstanding examples in the emulation movement of workers, civil servants and laborers nationwide in the period of 2020 - 2025. On this occasion, Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, awarded the Third Class Independence Medal to Mr. Tran Thanh Hai - former Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Launching patriotic emulation movement

On behalf of the Party, State and Central Emulation and Reward Council, Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front warmly welcomed the delegates, especially 400 advanced models attending the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress of workers, civil servants and laborers for the period 2025 - 2030 organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

According to Mr. Do Van Chien, imbued with the teachings of beloved President Ho Chi Minh "Competition is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation, those who emulate are the most patriotic", over the past 5 years, the patriotic emulation movement among workers, civil servants and laborers has had new, more creative, practical and effective developments.

Trade unions at all levels have closely followed the political tasks of agencies and units to link emulation with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle. Widely deployed emulation movements launched by trade unions, such as "good workers, creative workers", "good at public work, good at housework", "green, clean, beautiful, safe and hygienic work", effective innovation in trade union activities, etc.

In particular, the program of 75,000 initiatives to overcome difficulties and develop and 1 million initiatives to strive to overcome difficulties and be creative in determination to win the COVID-19 pandemic has been widely implemented, demonstrating the creative spirit and will to overcome difficulties of the working class and laborers, making efforts together with the whole country to prevent and win the COVID-19 pandemic.

From the emulation movement, many typical examples have emerged with tens of thousands of valuable initiatives and solutions, bringing great economic efficiency; many initiatives with far-reaching influence have been commended and rewarded by all levels and sectors.

On behalf of the leaders of the Party, the State, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Central Emulation and Reward Council, Mr. Do Van Chien acknowledged, warmly commended and respectfully thanked the great contributions of the trade union organization, the team of workers, civil servants and laborers nationwide in the patriotic emulation movements in the recent past.

Mr. Do Van Chien said that our country is entering a new era of building a strong, prosperous, civilized, and happy country. The entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army are striving to achieve the goal of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding, our country becoming a developed country with modern industry and high average income; 100 years of the country's founding, our country becoming a developed country with high income.

“To achieve that goal, we must make breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; synchronously deploy strategic breakthroughs; promote the strength of national solidarity; strongly arouse the will and aspirations of the Vietnamese people. I hope and suggest that trade unions need to further promote patriotic emulation movements among workers, civil servants, and laborers, renew the thinking, content and methods of organizing emulation movements with the spirit of innovation as the driving force, digital transformation as the method, labor productivity as the measure; improved living standards and sustainable employment are the goals of patriotic emulation movements among union members and laborers,” said Mr. Do Van Chien.

On this occasion, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang launched the 11th national patriotic emulation movement for workers, civil servants and laborers.

According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, in the coming period, our country will enter a new development phase with many fundamental changes. The revolution of reorganizing the political system, perfecting the two-level local government organization model, promoting administrative reform, comprehensive digital transformation, promoting labor productivity, green growth, developing the knowledge economy, circular economy, etc. will create profound changes in the leadership, management and operation methods of the political system, posing new requirements, great pressure and unprecedented challenges for trade union activities in general, and emulation and reward work in particular.

In order for emulation and rewards to truly become the driving force, the catalyst for innovation, digital transformation and sustainable development, contributing to building a strong modern working class, forming and developing a team of "Digital Workers" - a pioneering force, leading the realization of the goals of building and developing the country in the new era, on behalf of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang launched the emulation movement among workers, civil servants and laborers nationwide for the period 2025 - 2030 with the theme "Emulation in innovation, digital transformation, improving labor productivity, confidently entering the new era with the country".

The emulation movement focuses on the following contents: First, strengthening ideological orientation and communication to create motivation for emulation among union members and workers. Continuing to improve the quality of propaganda, mobilization and direction of the emulation movement, associated with the effective implementation of major policies of the Party, State and General Confederation; Building the emulation movement into a strong channel to spread patriotism, self-reliance, self-improvement, and aspiration to contribute among all union members and workers.

Second, linking the emulation movement with the implementation of resolutions of Party congresses and Trade Union congresses at all levels. Emulation must be the driving force to successfully carry out political tasks, production and business, build a strong Trade Union organization, and contribute to the effective implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the Vietnam Trade Union.

Third, innovate the content and organization methods and improve the quality of emulation movements. Establish a new mindset on emulation and rewards with the spirit: "Workers are the subject; practical effectiveness is the center; transformation at the grassroots level is the measure; spreading and replicating the model is the evaluation criterion". The focus of emulation must be on the grassroots level, linked to production and business tasks, improving labor productivity, and building a strong political system. Specify the content and have a form of organizing emulation movements suitable for each type of trade union organization.

Fourth, synchronously and effectively implement the directives and resolutions of the Politburo and the Resolution of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Labor on innovation in emulation and reward work. Promote and enhance the role and responsibility of leaders and the Emulation and Reward Councils at all levels in advising, directing and orienting emulation and reward activities. Innovate and improve the efficiency and quality of activities of emulation clusters and blocs; strengthen the coordination of organizing emulation activities in clusters and blocs, emulation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations from central to local levels. Expand the forms of joint emulation, thematic emulation, emulation by industry clusters and geographical areas to increase positive competition and promote comprehensive development.

Fifth, doing a good job of discovering, selecting, honoring, and replicating advanced models through emulation movements is one of the key tasks to improve the quality and effectiveness of emulation movements among workers, civil servants, and laborers. Closely coordinate with press and media agencies to open special pages and columns to promote new models, good practices, and advanced models. The organization of commendation and honoring ceremonies needs to be solemn, meaningful, and timely, in order to create a strong ripple effect and add motivation to emulation throughout the system.

“On behalf of the Presidium and the Emulation and Reward Council of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, I call on union members, workers, civil servants and laborers nationwide to promote the glorious tradition of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union, uphold the spirit of “Solidarity, Innovation, Creativity”, strive to compete to achieve many outstanding achievements, contribute practically to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union and complete the targets of the 5-year socio-economic development plan, period 2025 - 2030” - Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang said.

At the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Confederation, on behalf of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Confederation - the unit with the largest number of cadres, union members and workers in the country, representing workers nationwide, spoke in response to the emulation movement recently launched by the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang.

Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan said: "We express our high unity and strong determination in response to the call for emulation from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. With the spirit of "Emulating innovation, digital transformation, improving labor productivity, confidently entering a new era with the country", union members and workers in Ho Chi Minh City vow to unite, make continuous efforts, and devote all their enthusiasm - intelligence - courage - responsibility to turn the emulation spirit into concrete, practical and effective actions in each position, agency, unit and enterprise.
