Over the past period, local authorities in the province have closely coordinated with relevant agencies to implement comprehensive solutions on food safety and hygiene, contributing to raising awareness, a sense of responsibility, and the role of production and business establishments.

The Quan Lich rice noodle production facility, located in Zone 18, Hoang Xa commune, Thanh Thuy district, implements procedures to ensure food safety and hygiene.

The province currently has nearly 10,000 food production, processing, and trading establishments under the management of the Health sector, mostly small-scale businesses. Since the beginning of the year, authorities at all levels, from the province to the district, have launched numerous intensive campaigns to promote compliance with food safety regulations in food production and trading; and organized inter-agency inspection teams to check food service establishments, restaurants, hotels, collective kitchens in industrial zones, schools, etc.

In the first six months of 2024, the entire province organized 479 inspection and post-inspection teams on food safety, including 3 provincial-level teams, 26 district-level teams, and 450 commune-level teams. These teams inspected and conducted post-inspections of over 3,200 food production and business establishments...

On-site inspections at stores and production facilities show that compliance with regulations and laws on food safety is well-maintained. Stores, production and business owners, and the public have shown awareness in choosing and using clean, safe food with clear origins...

Currently, the percentage of food production and business establishments and food service establishments that meet the physical infrastructure requirements is over 98%, and the percentage of food service establishments certified as meeting food safety standards is 100%...

Phu Tho town is the hub for traditional cakes, processed foods, and soft drinks; therefore, ensuring food safety and hygiene is always a priority for the town's authorities. Currently, there are approximately 325 food production, business, and processing establishments in the town, including 121 production and processing facilities, 105 food service establishments, and nearly 100 retail businesses.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of Phu Tho town, said: “Through propaganda activities, production and business establishments have basically complied fully with regulations in business and have certificates of eligibility for food safety. Every year, we sign commitments with each household to comply with regulations in the production, processing, and trading of food.”

With the active involvement of all levels of government, the awareness of food safety compliance among food production and business establishments has been increasingly enhanced. Many production and business establishments have proactively invested in modern and synchronized facilities, ensuring a safe business environment and not violating food hygiene regulations.

Visiting the Quan Lich rice noodle production facility in Zone 18, Hoang Xa Commune, Thanh Thuy District, with its spacious and well-equipped production area, we were told by Mr. Le Huy Quan, the owner: “Due to the nature of noodle production, which involves many stages, ensuring food safety during production is crucial. My family has divided the production, drying, and packaging areas into separate sections… ensuring a clean, well-ventilated space to prevent mold. As a result, the quality of the product has improved.”

Recognizing food safety as a crucial task, in the coming period, functional agencies in the province will continue to promote propaganda, raise awareness, and clarify the responsibilities of food producers and businesses according to the law; guide business owners to comply with regulations on hygiene of facilities, equipment, and tools, and practice personal hygiene when producing, processing, trading, and storing food; continue to strictly adhere to standards on disease safety in production, preliminary processing, processing, and use of raw materials with clear origins; and use permitted food additives in the correct dosage and for the correct purposes as regulated in food production and processing. At the same time, consumers are advised to choose to buy food, especially processed food, from reputable production and business establishments that guarantee quality, contributing to protecting consumer rights and health.
