Musician Yiruma arrives in Vietnam, preparing to perform with Ha Anh Tuan

Late on the evening of March 5, Korean pianist Yiruma landed at Tan Son Nhat airport, Ho Chi Minh City.

He came to Vietnam to perform at the Sketch a Rose concert on two nights, March 8 and 9, in Ho Chi Minh City.

Yiruma and Ha Anh Tuan are about to reunite

After a long flight from Korea, Yiruma quickly got in the car and went back to the hotel to rest. On March 6, he began practicing with singer Ha Anh Tuan and the band.

As Ha Anh Tuan announced earlier, both will have carefully prepared combined performances to give to the audience.

The fact that Yiruma, a world-famous pianist, accepted to participate in a music event in Vietnam, in a project initiated by Ha Anh Tuan, is something that many audiences are excited about.

Recently, Ha Anh Tuan released the song Dear, Memory ( Rose Memory ) composed by Yiruma himself for his voice. The song marks a special collaboration between a Vietnamese artist - Ha Anh Tuan, and a world- class music legend, something unprecedented in Vietnamese music.

Yiruma also visited Vietnam in 2017 to perform at the Hanoi Opera House and another unofficial performance before that also in Hanoi.

Yiruma, whose real name is Lee Ru Ma, is a South Korean pianist and composer. He was born in 1978 in Seoul, South Korea.

At the age of five, he began piano lessons and moved to the UK, studying at the Purcell School of Music for Young Musicians and graduating from King's College London.

His turning point came when the song When Love Falls was chosen as the theme song for Choi Ji Woo's character in the Korean Wave-leading drama, Winter Sonata .

He also composed the soundtrack for the film Spring Waltz, and his album The Best: Reminiscent, 10th Anniversary entered the Billboard classical music chart.

Yiruma's music has been world-famous for years but has seen a distinct rebirth since the COVID-19 era, especially the song River Flows in You.
