Pham Nhat Vuong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vingroup , ranked 678th with $4.8 billion on the Hurun list.

According to the 2024 Hurun Global Rich List, published by the Hurun Research Institute based in Shanghai, China, Vietnam's richest man, Pham Nhat Vuong, along with other Vietnamese billionaires, have all moved up the ranks on the list.

Hurun's list of the richest billionaires includes Vietnamese billionaires, but it differs from Forbes' list.

Specifically: Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vingroup, ranked 678th with $4.8 billion; Mr. Ho Hung Anh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Technological and Commercial Bank (Techcombank), ranked 1,787th with $2 billion; Mr. Tran Dinh Long, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat Group, ranked 1,855th with $1.9 billion.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, ranked 2,038th with $1.7 billion; Mr. Tran Ba Duong, Chairman of Truong Hai Auto, ranked 2,573rd with $1.3 billion. Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Chairman of Masan Group, is on the Forbes list with a net worth of $1.1 billion, but is not on the Hurun list.

In terms of changes in ranking compared to the previous year's Hurun Report, all Vietnamese billionaires have moved up in number.

Leading the Hurun Global Rich List 2024 is still billionaire Elon Musk, owner of social media company X, Tesla, and SpaceX, with a net worth of $231 billion. Following him is Jeff Bezos, owner of Amazon, with $185 billion. Currently, there are 3,279 billionaires worldwide, a 5% increase from last year.

Hurun's statistics differ from those of Forbes, a leading American business and financial magazine. Hurun states that its research methodology involves analyzing asset values based on the value of shares held on the stock exchange as of January 15th. For unlisted companies, asset values are calculated by comparison with comparable listed companies.
