Program No. 07-CTr/TU dated March 17, 2021 of the Hanoi Party Committee on "Promoting the development of science, technology and innovation in Hanoi in the period of 2021-2025" has identified 7 groups of targets, including the target of the proportion of high-tech agricultural products to total agricultural products by 2025 reaching over 70% (currently at 46%).
To implement Program No. 07-CTr/TU, recently, Hanoi has issued many policies related to supporting and attracting businesses, cooperatives, farms, and households to invest in high-tech agriculture.
Up to now, Hanoi has 406 high-tech agricultural production models, including 262 models in the field of cultivation, 119 models in the field of livestock breeding, 25 models in the field of aquaculture; concentrated in the districts: Hoai Duc, Me Linh, Gia Lam, Thuong Tin, Dong Anh, Thanh Oai, Dan Phuong...
The city has 68 agricultural cooperatives applying high technology, linking production with product consumption and focusing on building product quality standards; about 20 enterprises have initially invested in high-tech agriculture...
In the first half of 2024, research activities and application of new technologies in production have contributed to improving productivity and quality in agricultural production such as: Application of biotechnology in the production of plant and animal varieties, cultivation techniques, disease prevention, preservation, and processing of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products has created a breakthrough in improving productivity, quality, and increasing product competitiveness.
Thanks to that, in the first half of 2024, the total value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production in Hanoi reached 22,661 billion VND, up 2.94% over the same period last year. Hanoi's agricultural, forestry and fishery exports reached more than 1.2 billion USD, up 58.5%, of which agricultural products reached 836 million USD.
Director of Ngoc Mung Poultry Breeding Joint Stock Company - Hoang Manh Ngoc said that with a farm scale of 5 hectares, the company is raising 200,000 chickens and using 100 incubators, all controlled by 4.0 technology. Automation in the feeding and drinking process helps the chickens grow healthily, minimizing diseases. Each month, the company supplies the market with about 600,000 chickens, bringing high economic efficiency.
In fact, the effectiveness of applying digital technology to agricultural production is clear. However, this still faces many difficulties, the initial investment cost is very high, the scale is small, the level of farmers is uneven, and there is a lack of modern facilities and techniques.
In addition, the agricultural product consumption market is still unstable, prices are unstable, which reduces the investment motivation of enterprises. Many units only apply technology to a few stages in the production process instead of the entire process, leading to efficiency not achieving the expected optimization...
Regarding this issue, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ta Van Tuong, said that in the coming time, the Hanoi agricultural sector will continue to cooperate with localities to support cooperatives and businesses to promote the application of modern technology.
In particular, priority is given to the use of biotechnology and microbial products to control the environment, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect the environment during the livestock farming process. Solve difficulties related to land and the environment to encourage more businesses to invest in this field.
Coordinate with localities to open training courses, disseminate and transfer technical advances to livestock farmers, in order to develop and replicate high-tech livestock farming models; continue to review the planning of concentrated agricultural production areas applying high technology and publicly announce the planning of livestock farming areas to call for investment from individuals and businesses.
Support cooperatives, enterprises, and concentrated livestock farms that are qualified to apply the e-farm model, participate in the quality management system and consume livestock products; promote trade promotion activities, build linkage chains in livestock farming to bring high-tech livestock products into modern distribution channels, and increase product value in the market...
