The English test of the 2024 High School Graduation Exam is assessed to have about 75% of questions at the recognition and comprehension level. Application and high-level application questions for differentiation focus on vocabulary and reading comprehension questions.

According to the teacher's assessment, the sentences with a score of 8 or higher are in the following contents: words with the same semantic field, vocabulary in the reading passage, fill in the blanks, find synonyms in the reading passage.

Questions with a score of 9 or higher in the sections: advanced vocabulary, idioms, main idea/best title questions, inference questions in reading comprehension. “These are questions that require candidates to have a rich vocabulary and understand many layers of meaning of words and high-level inference from information in the reading passage,” said teachers of the English Department of the HOCMAI Education System. However, teachers assess these questions as not too difficult, candidates can rely on information in the reading passage and use the elimination method to choose the most likely correct option.
