Comrade Ngo Dong Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Comrade Tran Van Huyen, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee and Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tan, Vice Rector of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy attended and chaired the seminar.
Speaking at the seminar, comrade Ngo Dong Hai, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, said: After more than 10 years of implementing Conclusion 94 of the Secretariat on improving the quality of political theory education in the national education system, the teaching of political theory in schools has achieved many positive results such as: the curriculum system of political theory subjects has been gradually improved, the organization of teaching and fostering of political theory has also had innovations, in line with the reality of schools...
However, the direction of teaching and learning in many places has not been given due importance and attention. Many party committees and school leaders still consider this a secondary subject or a compulsory subject that must be implemented according to regulations without close attention and direction. One of the reasons for the above limitations is that the textbooks and curriculum are still inadequate compared to the requirements, causing difficulties for teachers and lack of appeal for learners.

The seminar aims to assess the current status of teaching political theory subjects; exchange and share experiences between training institutions, and propose solutions to innovate programs and textbooks in the context of digital transformation and international integration.
At the seminar, lecturers from universities and colleges in provinces and cities such as Can Tho, An Giang , Ca Mau, Vinh Long presented many papers stating the current situation, difficulties and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of teaching political theory in schools.
Lecturers believe that in order to effectively teach and learn political theory, the curriculum needs to be renewed and updated with knowledge that is suitable for practice. The curriculum needs to be concise, easy to understand, and limit shortcomings and errors. The number of students in each class should be from 50 to 70 people, not too many, which will cause difficulties for teachers and students. In practice, there are classes with more than 200 students, making it very difficult for teachers to teach.
Universities, colleges and lecturers need to focus on innovating teaching methods, applying digital technology and artificial intelligence to increase interaction and attract learners...
The seminar will take place until December 6.
