Resolutely fight to prevent violations of border laws

The talks took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding. The two sides comprehensively assessed the results achieved in cooperation in border management and protection, and the settlement of border incidents since November 2024.

Accordingly, the two sides have actively grasped and strictly implemented three legal documents on land borders signed by the governments of Vietnam and China; the Border Defense Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of National Defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of National Defense of the People's Republic of China signed on October 24, 2024, and the spirit of the minutes of periodic and rotating talks between the two sides.

The two sides have strengthened border management; persistently coordinated in handling border incidents on the basis of reason, humanity, civilization and efficiency; resolutely fought to prevent and handle cross-border law violations such as: encroachment on border lines, border markers, border markers, illegal entry and exit, smuggling... strengthened management, inspection and supervision of construction works on the border.

At the talks, the two sides agreed that in the coming time, they will continue to strengthen the exchange of information and related situations, promptly coordinate to handle and resolve border incidents satisfactorily; the two sides agreed to strengthen the implementation of the hotline mechanism between equal units according to the signed cooperation mechanism, according to contact points, and at the same time study and expand other forms of communication such as email... to promptly exchange information, handle and promptly resolve border incidents.

Continue to consolidate and promote the regime of regular and ad hoc bilateral talks and patrols at all levels that have been determined, constantly deepen and perfect the mechanism, content, form and organizational measures; practically join hands in building a peaceful , friendly and developed border.

Strengthen propaganda and education for people on both sides of the border to raise legal awareness and voluntarily comply with regulations and policies on national borders.

For residents on both sides of the border who violate the law across the border, the main measure is to take educational and persuasive measures, not to infringe upon the life, property and spirit of the violators.

The two sides coordinated to carry out propaganda activities, distribute leaflets, and organize legal knowledge competitions for officials and people in border areas. Advised local authorities to continue implementing the model of twinning residential clusters on both sides of the border.

These activities aim to practically deepen the friendship and solidarity and the long-standing close relationship between the people of the two countries, create a favorable mechanism for border residents on both sides to visit each other, help each other develop the economy, exchange culture, gradually improve the material and spiritual life of the people on both sides of the border, and contribute to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and prosperous Vietnam-China border.
