The cut-off score for the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology could be 21-27.

VnExpressVnExpress21/07/2023

The expected cutoff scores for the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology range from 21 to 27, with Information Technology and Computer Science having the highest scores.

At an online admissions counseling program organized by the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology on the afternoon of July 20th, Associate Professor Dr. Le Huu Lap, former Deputy Director of the Institute, predicted this year's cutoff scores based on the results of the high school graduation exam.

Based on the score distribution for each subject and some subject combinations published by the Ministry of Education and Training , Mr. Lap believes that the three most common subject combinations used by the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology for admissions—A00, A01, and D01—will not change significantly. The number of students admitted based on high school graduation exam scores will also remain similar. Therefore, Mr. Lap predicts that the cut-off scores for admission to the school will not change much.

Accordingly, Information Technology and Computer Science are projected to have the highest entrance scores, around 26.5-27. Several other majors will require scores of 26-26.5, including Information Security, Multimedia Technology, E-commerce, and Marketing.

Mr. Lap predicts that most majors will have a cutoff score of 24 or higher, including new majors this year such as Control and Automation Engineering, and Computer Networks and Data Communication.

Specifically, the Bachelor of Information Technology program, with its application-oriented curriculum, will have the lowest admission score, at 21-22, suitable for candidates who like this field but do not have enough points to be admitted to the engineering program.

Mr. Lap predicted the following cutoff scores for the various majors at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology:

TT Training field Expected cut-off scores
1 Electronics and telecommunications engineering 25.5 - 26.5
2 Electrical and electronic engineering technology 25 - 25.5
3 Information technology 26.5 - 27+
4 Information security 26 - 26.5
5 Computer Science 26.5 - 27
6 Multimedia technology 26 - 26.5
7 Multimedia 25.5 - 26.5
8 Press 24 - 25
9 Business administration 25 - 25.5
10 E-commerce 26 - 26.5
11 Marketing 26 - 26.5
12 Accountant 25 - 25.5
13 Financial technology 25 - 26
14 Control and Automation Engineering 25 - 26
15 Information Technology - CLC 25.5 - 26
16 Bachelor of Information Technology (Applied Focus) 21 - 22
17 Computer networks and data communications 25.5 - 26

Mr. Lap emphasized that the above scores are predictions. Candidates with lower scores than these levels can still submit their applications. For example, a candidate with 23-24 points can reserve one application for the Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering major.

This year, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology is recruiting nearly 4,300 students through four methods: considering high school graduation exam scores (55% of the total quota), considering aptitude and thinking skills assessment scores (15%), and combined admission based on its own plan and regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (30%).

The university has announced the cutoff scores for the early admission methods, with Computer Science having the highest score across all methods and Accounting the lowest.

In the method of considering high school graduation exam results, last year the school's cutoff scores ranged from 19 to 27.25. At the Northern campus, Information Technology had the highest cutoff score at 27.25, followed by Computer Science at 26.9. At the Southern campus, the cutoff scores were lower, ranging from 19 to 25.85.

Tuition fees at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology are expected to be around 24.5-27.8 million VND for the regular program. For the high-quality Information Technology program, the average tuition fee is approximately 42 million VND per year. Meanwhile, the tuition fee for the Bachelor of Information Technology program with an applied focus is around 30.5 million VND.
