The admission scores for the 10th grade specialized program at the Foreign Language Specialized High School (Foreign Language University - Vietnam National University, Hanoi ) range from 22.34 to 25.42. Meanwhile, the cut-off scores for the specialized program with scholarships are in the range of 26.23 to 31.85.
In the specialized program, the English class had the highest cutoff score - 25.42 points. Next was German with a cutoff score of 25.08 in the D5 exam group. This year, the Korean class in the D7 exam group had the lowest cutoff score (22.34 points). Overall, this year's cutoff scores are slightly lower than last year's 25-26 points.
For scholarship-eligible students, the Chinese language specialized class had the highest cutoff score – 31.85 points, applicable to candidates taking the D4 exam. The German, Korean, French, and Japanese language classes also had cutoff scores above 30. For non-specialized programs, the English language class had a cutoff score of 23.42.

The cutoff score is the sum of the scores from the Literature and Social Sciences Aptitude Test, the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Aptitude Test, and the Foreign Language Aptitude Test (the Foreign Language Aptitude Test score is weighted with a factor of 2).
According to the admission principles, the Foreign Language Specialized High School only considers candidates who participated in the entrance exam, completed all the required tests, and achieved a score greater than 2.0 in all tests.
For the 2023-2024 school year, the school is recruiting 500 students for grade 10 (100 for non-specialized classes). The school received a total of 3,842 applications. With 15 available spots, the Russian language specialized class received 319 applications, resulting in a competition ratio of 1 in 21.3 (last year, this class had a ratio of 1 in 7.8).
Next, the French language specialization had a ratio of 1 in 12.8, followed by the Korean language specialization with a ratio of 1 in 10.2. The English language specialization received the largest number of applications with 2,088, while the school only has 215 places available, a ratio of 1 in 9.7.
