This is a suitable trip for those who do not like crowded tours. Vu said the best time to explore New England autumn is the first two weeks of October when the leaves turn red and yellow.

According to Vu, fall in New England starts from the last week of September to the end of November, possibly into December due to the different terrains. In mountainous areas like New Hampshire, Vermont and northwest Maine, the leaves will change color first and peak time is the first two weeks of October. In the southeast near the sea like Bar Harbor, Camden and Portland, Maine, the leaves will turn two weeks later, and in the city of Boston from late October through November and December.

However, the weather in the previous months will also affect the change in leaf color. In years with a lot of rain and early cold, the leaves will change color earlier. In years with less rain and more sun, the leaves will change color later.

Boston

Wherever you are, from around the world or from other US states, Boston should be your first stop because of its convenient transportation. Home to world-famous universities such as BU, MIT, Harvard or Quincy Market and many centuries-old buildings, Boston attracts tourists almost all year round.
