Business Forum - 30 years of pioneering, innovating and accompanying entrepreneurs and businesses

Throughout its 30-year journey of accompanying entrepreneurs and businesses, the Business Forum Magazine has always been a pioneer and innovator, serving as a bridge to convey the voice of businesses and entrepreneurs to the Party, the State, and the Government, contributing to the economic development of the country.

On November 3rd, in Hanoi , the Business Forum Magazine, under the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), celebrated its 30th anniversary (November 5th, 1993 - November 5th, 2023).

In her opening remarks at the anniversary celebration, journalist Nguyen Linh Anh – Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Business Forum Magazine – stated that 30 years ago, on November 5, 1993, the Business Forum magazine was officially established. The 30-year journey of the Business Forum 's birth and development also coincides with the formation and development of Vietnamese entrepreneurs and businesses during the period of reform.

Over the past 30 years, the Business Forum has matured in all aspects, serving as a bridge of information between the Party, the State, VCCI, and relevant agencies with the business community, entrepreneurs, and a wide readership. The magazine has successfully fulfilled its tasks: informing and disseminating information about the Party's guidelines, policies, and resolutions; the State's laws and regulations; and the activities of VCCI, the Vietnamese business community, and entrepreneurs. It has become a source of useful information guiding the business community in developing production and business, improving efficiency, and enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises.

The magazine has always remained true to its mission: to be the voice of the Vietnamese business community and entrepreneurs. Throughout its 30 years of development, the Business Forum is proud to have become one of the leading publications on business and entrepreneurs.

More than just a partner, the Business Forum also serves as a bridge to bring the opinions of businesses to relevant authorities. The magazine has actively participated in lawmaking and improving the business environment. This is demonstrated through the organization of numerous forums and workshops to gather opinions from businesses and entrepreneurs on draft amendments to several important laws such as the Law on Tax Administration, the Law on Land, the Law on Criminal Procedure, the Law on Cybersecurity, the Law on Planning, and the draft Law on Special Economic Administrative Units... Each year, the magazine organizes 15-25 forums spanning all three regions of Vietnam: North, Central, and South.

VCCI Chairman Pham Tan Cong assessed that the 30-year journey of the Business Forum Magazine, from its inception to its development, has also been a period of formation and development for Vietnamese entrepreneurs and businesses during the đổi mới (renovation) era. Throughout this journey, the magazine has always been a reliable and dedicated companion, contributing to the development of entrepreneurs and businesses.

In the coming period, in implementing Resolution No. 41 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new era, the Magazine needs to continue to innovate and effectively fulfill its role as the mouthpiece of VCCI and the voice of the business community.

Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Le Quoc Minh, stated that the development of the Business Forum Magazine, with its numerous publications and works, demonstrates the efforts of all leaders and staff, including reporters, in the current challenging context.

At the same time, it should be noted that the press in general, and the Vietnamese press in particular, need to continue to promote the voice of the Party and the State to the people and the business community; and continue to maintain its role as a forum for businesses and the people to engage with the Party and the State.

"With a pioneering spirit of innovation and creativity, and a focus on human values, we believe these are very suitable paths for the Business Forum Magazine. The Vietnam Journalists Association will continue to work alongside VCCI to promote and publicize more businesses, and those that perform well and efficiently deserve recognition. The Business Forum Magazine, with its ability to connect with entrepreneurs, needs to build a comprehensive database of businesses in the near future," Mr. Le Quoc Minh affirmed.

Considering that the development of businesses and entrepreneurs cannot be achieved without the support of the press, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, stated that during its formation and development, the Business Forum Magazine has published many insightful and in-depth articles on the business life of Vietnamese enterprises and entrepreneurs, contributing many valuable opinions; serving as a bridge to convey the voice of businesses and entrepreneurs to the Party, the State, and the Government, contributing to the economic development of the country.

The magazine also actively participates in the process of advising and critiquing economic, trade, and investment policies, contributing to improving the business environment and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of businesses and entrepreneurs; as well as organizing meaningful programs such as the National Startup Program.

On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the staff, reporters, and editors of the Business Forum Magazine were honored to receive the Emulation Flag from VCCI; a Certificate of Merit from the Central Propaganda Department; and a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Federation of Labor.
