An Giang provincial leaders visited the province's OCOP booth.
Positioning of OCOP products of the province
Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Le Huu Toan said that the Mekong Delta OCOP Product Connection Forum is a very important festival for the whole country and An Giang province. This is an opportunity to determine where the province's products stand on the "common stage" of the whole country and the whole region; the participants will also have positive changes when supplying to the market.
After 5 years, An Giang province has over 580 OCOP products. This proud result clearly reflects the perseverance of enterprises, cooperatives and production and business households in the province. Trade promotion is increasingly focused, many typical products, OCOP products of the province are present in many large supermarkets, such as: Co.opmart, Big C, Lotte, Bach Hoa Xanh, Winmart... and on e-commerce platforms.
The province also encourages and supports businesses, cooperatives, and producers to participate in domestic and international OCOP supply-demand fairs and forums. Through this, An Giang's OCOP products not only expand the domestic market but also gradually approach potential international markets.

Within the framework of the forum, the Typical OCOP Product Contest had the participation of 25 4-star OCOP products from the provinces. As a result, 17 products were awarded high prizes, with An Giang province alone winning 4 prizes out of 6 competing products, including: Kim Hoa 43-degree protein fish sauce, Chim roi rice, almond cake, palm pistil honey.
For the first time, the forum organized a live-streaming activity to sell products directly on a digital platform, supporting more than 90 businesses to promote their products. Mr. Huynh Lan, owner of Binh Minh Food in My Thoi ward, shared: "Coming here, I have determined my goals more clearly, first of all, striving for products to meet OCOP standards. In addition to retail channels and social networks, participating in e-commerce platforms is very necessary."
At the conference connecting OCOP products in the Mekong Delta with commercial systems nationwide, representatives of stores and supermarket systems expressed their impression of An Giang province's OCOP sales method. Typically, Tu Son Supermarket (Chau Doc ward) created a mobile supermarket model, bringing OCOP products onto trucks to many rural areas. The average total revenue for each trip lasting 2-3 days reached about 300-500 million VND.
Mr. Paul Le, Vice President of Central Retail Group, GO supermarket chain shared: “I really like OCOP products of An Giang province, especially Phu Quoc fish sauce. In the near future, this will be the product I introduce to supermarkets in France.”
An Giang enterprises signed a cooperation agreement to bring products to e-commerce platforms.
New opportunities, new goals
According to Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc, at this year's forum, businesses, cooperatives, and entities had an overview of connecting transactions and trading OCOP products. Model 22 is a strong commitment of the province in digitizing OCOP specialty and tourism products, connecting An Giang with the whole country and the world . This is also an important turning point to help realize the sustainable goal of connecting 3 pillars: Agriculture - Industry - Trade - Tourism.
Entering a new phase, An Giang determined that by 2030, the OCOP program will not only increase product value but will also be a driving force for rural economic development, closely linked with tourism, trade and international integration. The province focuses on standardizing production processes according to international standards, developing organic products to ensure transparent traceability, ready to conquer demanding markets. At the same time, the province develops the OCOP model associated with tourism, turning local specialties into typical gifts for tourists.
An Giang province's OCOP products need to continue to innovate and improve internal quality.
Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Le Huu Toan noted that the subjects of OCOP products in the province need to clearly identify the advantages and constantly innovate. In particular, focusing on improving the quality from within through processing and applying technology, focusing on improving product labels and packaging to have their own mark and be competitive. The agricultural and environmental sector is focusing on planning large enough raw material areas so that subjects (especially business subjects and cooperatives) and people have enough capacity and raw materials to supply products long-term, sustainably and stably when connected.
Currently, the entities have built e-commerce channels on digital platforms to introduce, promote and sell OCOP products. The province will continue to promote distribution on e-commerce platforms, supermarket systems and shopping centers. At the same time, strengthen regional linkages to form a regional OCOP value chain, expand exports to Asian countries and other potential markets, and gradually build an OCOP brand of national and international stature.
