On September 6, Phu Tho Power Company (PC Phu Tho) said that the Cam Khe Regional Power Management Team (under PC Phu Tho) coordinated with the People's Committee and Hung Viet Commune Police to verify and clarify information about two identical electricity bills shared on social networks, causing many mixed comments in public opinion.
Previously, on September 5, images of two electricity bills for August 2025 of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Manh and Mr. Nguyen Duc Doan (Mr. Manh's father), both residing in Dong Phai area, Hung Viet commune, Phu Tho province, appeared on social networks. Both bills recorded a consumption of 230 kWh with a payment amount of VND 572,011.
Some opinions say that there is a phenomenon of "bill duplication" or lack of transparency in the process of providing electricity services.
According to PC Phu Tho, after verification, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Manh confirmed: "I just jokingly said that my family had two identical invoices, then someone took a photo and posted it on Facebook.
In fact, I did not complain because I understand that it is normal for electricity bills to increase during the hot season when many appliances are used. The children in the house often buy lychees and longans to eat, and opening the refrigerator constantly also causes electricity consumption. If I had suspected, I would not have paid the bill."
At the same time, the Cam Khe Regional Electricity Management Team proactively coordinated with the local authorities and police to check the entire electricity usage history of the two households in 2023-2024 and the first eight months of 2025.
The results showed that the electricity consumption of each household was completely consistent with the equipment used, with no abnormalities detected, no signs of sudden increase or decrease.
In August 2025, both households coincidentally had the same consumption of 230kWh, resulting in the same payment amount. The meter readings and meter serial numbers were completely different, there was no phenomenon of bill duplication.

Mr. Hoang Thanh Binh - captain of the Cam Khe area electricity management team - said: "This is just a coincidence because the two households have similar electricity usage conditions. We have explained specifically to the customers and both households agreed, without any questions."
According to PC Phu Tho, the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) and PC Phu Tho have synchronously deployed electronic meter systems and collected data remotely.
Electricity indexes are recorded automatically, according to fixed dates and times, and transmitted to the bill calculation center, eliminating the risk of manual intervention.
The electricity industry also applies a strict error control mechanism and if this month's electricity output fluctuates by more than ±30% compared to the previous month, the system will automatically alert staff to check and re-check before issuing invoices to customers.
