Son Doong Cave is the largest cave on the planet and also the most magnificent cave in Vietnam. Son Doong Cave has a total length of nearly 9km, a vast vault, and a volume of up to 38.5 million cubic meters, making it the largest natural cave on the planet. The name Son Doong is a combination of two words: Son means mountain, and Doong is the name of the valley through which the Rao Thuong stream flows, meaning a cave in a mountain (limestone) with an underground river flowing through it.

The Son Doong Cave exploration tour typically lasts 6 days and 5 nights, costing 72 million VND, and is already fully booked for 2024. The cave recently appeared in a classic episode of Planet Earth on the BBC in the UK.
