A high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Peru visits and works in Vietnam.

The Communist Party of Peru always values ​​the traditional, close-knit relationship with the Communist Party of Vietnam ; and supports strengthening relations between Vietnam and Peru as well as with the Southern Common Market.

At the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, a high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Peru, led by General Secretary Luis Villanueva, visited and worked in Vietnam from November 9-19.

On the afternoon of November 10th, in Hanoi, Comrade Tran Tuan Anh, Member of the Political Bureau and Head of the Central Economic Committee, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, received the high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Peru.

Warmly welcoming Comrade Luis Villanueva on his first visit to Vietnam leading a high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Peru, Comrade Tran Tuan Anh highly appreciated the significance of the delegation's visit and expressed confidence that it would make a positive contribution to strengthening mutual understanding and trust, and deepening the traditionally good cooperative relationship between the two parties.

Comrade Tran Tuan Anh conveyed the warm greetings of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to General Secretary Luis Villanueva.

Comrade Tran Tuan Anh expressed the deep appreciation and gratitude of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam for the solidarity and active support of the Communist Party of Peru for Vietnam's past national liberation and reunification, as well as for Vietnam's current cause of renovation, construction, and defense of the Fatherland.

The Head of the Central Economic Committee affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam always values ​​and wishes to continuously consolidate and strengthen cooperative relations with countries and parties with traditional ties, including the Communist Party of Peru, on the basis of historical connections, shared interests, and the need for cooperation in the new situation for the benefit of the people of each country, and for peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

In informing the high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Peru about the situation in Vietnam, the Head of the Central Economic Committee stated that, after nearly 40 years of implementing the reform process initiated and led by the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam has achieved tremendous achievements of historical significance.

Since the beginning of the 13th National Congress term, the Central Committee and the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam have issued many policies, resolutions, and orientations for the socio-economic development of the country, not only during the Congress term (2021-2026) but also looking towards 2030 and with a vision to 2045.

Amidst complex and volatile international conditions, the Vietnamese economy has been adversely affected. However, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the guidance and management of the Government, and collective efforts, the Vietnamese economy has remained fundamentally stable and continues to maintain a positive development trend.

Comrade Tran Tuan Anh expressed his appreciation for the progress in economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Peru in recent years; affirming that the potential and opportunities for cooperation remain very large, especially after both countries became members of the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (CPTPP) and bilateral trade between Vietnam and Peru continues to increase. The current results are positive but still do not fully reflect the potential for economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The comrade suggested that the Communist Party of Peru and the "Together for Peru" Left Alliance actively support the initiation of negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) to leverage the strengths and exploit the potential of each country; proposed strengthening high-level delegation exchanges, party-to-party cooperation, maintaining bilateral cooperation mechanisms, increasing trade exchanges, and coordinating closely at multilateral forums such as APEC and CPTPP.

The Head of the Central Economic Committee expressed confidence that 2024, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Peru, will be a memorable milestone in the cooperative relationship between the two parties and countries in various fields, from politics and economics to culture, sports, tourism, education and training, and people-to-people exchanges.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Peru Luis Villanueva thanked the Head of the Central Economic Committee Tran Tuan Anh for the welcome, expressing his pleasure at visiting Vietnam for the first time and witnessing the significant socio-economic development efforts and achievements of the Vietnamese State and people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Comrade Luis Villanueva highly appreciated the policies and guidelines of the Vietnamese Party and State in stabilizing the macroeconomy and strengthening international integration; emphasized that the Communist Party of Peru always values ​​the traditional relationship and close solidarity with the Communist Party of Vietnam; supported strengthening relations between Vietnam and Peru as well as with the Southern Common Market, for the benefit of the people of both countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development; and pledged to continue contributing to promoting the good friendship and cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries in the future.

Earlier, on the morning of November 10th, a high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Central Committee and Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department, held talks with a high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Peru.

The two sides informed each other about the situation of their respective parties and countries; regional and international issues of common concern; and exchanged views on measures to strengthen and enhance the substantive effectiveness of cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of Peru in the coming period.

Comrade Le Hoai Trung and General Secretary Luis Villanueva agreed that the two parties should proactively strengthen the exchange of information and opinions in various flexible forms, support and actively coordinate in multilateral forums of international political parties, promote friendly exchanges between the people of the two countries, actively contribute to promoting economic cooperation and other promising fields between the two countries, as well as coordinate the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2024.

During their visit to Vietnam, the high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Peru will work with the Central Theoretical Council, the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Confederation of Trade and Industry, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and a number of economic groups and enterprises; and will visit and work in Quang Ninh province and Ho Chi Minh City.
