The province has a total road length of over 8,134 km and an inland waterway length of approximately 285 km. Regarding expressways, the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway connects with the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway and is 40 km long; the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway is currently under construction.
A general overview of the working session.
Over the past period, the Department of Transport has paid attention to leadership and guidance in ensuring traffic safety and order. The Provincial Traffic Safety Committee has advised the Party Committee, government, and mass organizations of the province to develop comprehensive and timely programs and plans to implement directives and resolutions of the Central Party Secretariat, the Government, the Prime Minister , and the National Traffic Safety Committee... on ensuring traffic safety and order on roads and waterways.
At the same time, we will strengthen the dissemination and education of traffic safety laws, thereby gradually raising the awareness of traffic safety law compliance among officials, Party members, civil servants, and the general public.
Comrade Ma Thi Thuy, Deputy Head of the Standing Delegation of the National Assembly Deputies of the 15th term of the province, delivered a speech at the working session.
As the core force ensuring traffic safety and order, units under the Provincial Police have regularly intensified patrols and coordinated with functional forces to maintain traffic safety and order in the province; they have also regularly proposed to the Traffic Safety Committees at all levels to address many traffic accident hotspots and high-risk areas in the province.
The traffic accident situation in the province from 2009 to 2023 was basically controlled across all three criteria (number of incidents, number of deaths, and number of injuries). Functional forces detected and handled 644,808 cases of road traffic safety violations, collecting over 261 billion VND for the State budget, temporarily seizing over 6,243 vehicles, and addressing 56 accident black spots.
During the meeting, the two units also made proposals and recommendations such as prioritizing the mobilization of resources for the construction of new transportation infrastructure, continuing to provide all resources to implement the project of concreting rural roads and bridges on rural roads. They also suggested simplifying procedures for handling, liquidating, and auctioning vehicles seized or temporarily detained for violating traffic safety regulations, to avoid wasting assets.
Simultaneously address traffic accident hotspots and potential accident risks; clear and compensate for road corridors along national highways passing through the province.

Concluding the monitoring session, Ms. Ma Thi Thuy, Deputy Head of the Standing Delegation of the National Assembly of the province, requested relevant agencies and member units of the Traffic Safety Committees at all levels to continue directing the implementation of directives and resolutions of the Central Government and the province to strengthen the work of ensuring traffic safety in the new situation; and to continue promoting the dissemination and education of laws on traffic safety.
At the same time, the delegation emphasized the need to raise public awareness and understanding of traffic safety regulations and policies, and to strengthen inspection and control efforts to ensure traffic safety. The delegation also noted the feedback and suggestions from the delegates attending the meeting for further study and will submit specific recommendations to the National Assembly, the Government, and relevant ministries and agencies for consideration and resolution within their authority.
