In his keynote address at the forum "Developing Green Investment and Trade - Building a Global Ecological Civilization Together," Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha highly appreciated China's initiative to organize the 6th International Import Expo.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in the context of a world undergoing profound transformation with the strong development of science and technology and trends of digital transformation, green transformation, and development based on technology and knowledge, this is a historic moment for the world to rapidly innovate, transform its economy from brown to green, and share three major directions of cooperation.

Specifically, firstly, it is necessary to strengthen international cooperation and solidarity to build an ecosystem for green investment and trade. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that addressing global challenges requires global efforts and promotes multilateralism. Multilateral institutions such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), UNCTAD, UNDP, and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) need to play a role in strengthening connections and building global policies to promote green and sustainable trade and investment.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the process of greening investment and trade needs to ensure fairness.

Secondly, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, the process of greening investment and trade needs to ensure fairness. This requires countries to act together, pursuing common goals while taking into account differences in development levels, economic scale, and adaptability. Developed countries need to provide financial, technological, and human resource support to developing countries to catch up with global green standards and regulations.

Thirdly, science and technology are the "vaccine" in the journey to respond to climate change and green transition. The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that developed countries should take the lead in inventing and developing science and technology to produce green products such as green hydrogen, and infrastructure for storage, transportation, and production with low emissions and environmental friendliness. International organizations need to contribute to ensuring the equitable allocation of resources and transfer of green technologies from developed countries to developing countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that if developed and developing countries cooperate and effectively utilize natural resources for energy transition, they can turn the impossible into the possible, working together towards the highest goal: sustainable development and a global ecological civilization. "Vietnam is ready to participate with developed countries in establishing a framework for cooperation between developed and developing countries for green transition," the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed.

"Vietnam is ready to join developed countries in establishing a framework for cooperation between developed and developing countries for green transition," the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed.

The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized that, as one of the three countries implementing the Just Energy Transition Agreement (JETP) with the G7 countries and international partners, Vietnam promotes a mechanism for mobilizing green finance, whereby government capital plays a leading role in directing private investment to realize emission reduction, green transition, and sustainable development goals.

Over 200 representatives from governments, businesses, experts, academics from various countries, and international organizations attended the Forum, focusing on solutions to promote trade and investment to strengthen financing for development, as well as developing green technologies towards building a global ecological civilization.

The opening ceremony of CIIE 6 was attended by leaders and representatives from 150 countries and territories, international organizations, and hundreds of leading corporations and businesses worldwide. This is one of the four largest annual multilateral diplomatic activities of the Chinese government, initiated by Chinese President Xi Jinping since 2018.

The 6th CIIE Fair, themed "New Era, Sharing the Future Together," attracted over 150 countries and international organizations, and 3,400 participating enterprises. The fair aimed to enhance China's role in the global supply chain, affirm China's two-way trade policy, and demonstrate its readiness to open its vast market, contributing to the recovery and growth of global trade and the economy.
