After more than a week of exciting competition, the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association Football Tournament, part of the "Ho Chi Minh City Journalists' Sports Festival," concluded on the morning of July 9th at Tao Dan Stadium. The Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association Football Tournament – Thai Son Nam Cup 2025 featured 16 teams (including 4 women's teams) and was organized to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day.

In the final match of the women's tournament, which was essentially a final, the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper women's team suffered a 0-3 defeat against the Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper team due to the absence of several key players. The inexperienced young players of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper team were unable to turn the tide in the second half despite creating numerous opportunities.
Competing for third place, the Saigon Liberation Newspaper women's team won in the penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw with SCTV in regular time.

In the men's competition, the Voice of the People of Ho Chi Minh City (VOH) team brilliantly defeated the VNEpress newspaper team with a score of 9-3 in the final, claiming the championship title. In the third-place match, the Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) team staged a dramatic comeback victory, winning 4-3 against the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper team after trailing 1-3 in the first set.

The Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association Football Tournament is not only an annual sporting event for reporters, editors, and staff working in the field of journalism and media from media agencies located in the city, but also carries profound professional, community, and social significance. It provides an opportunity to improve health, relieve work stress, and meet and socialize in a vibrant sporting atmosphere. The journalist athletes demonstrate solidarity and strengthen cooperation in their work and lives.

The organizing committee presented awards to outstanding teams and individuals immediately after the men's football final. In addition to the overall titles, player Minh Thảo (SCTV) was honored as "Football Queen". Striker Bạch Thị Hà ( Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper) received the "Top Scorer" award with 7 goals. The best goalkeeper of the tournament was Nguyễn Phương Thảo ( Saigon Liberation Newspaper) .
In the men's competition, the top scorer title went to striker Le Viet Hang (VOH, 10 goals) while Vuong Thanh Binh (HTV) received the Best Goalkeeper award.
