Vietnam team determined to win the top spot

In the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship qualifying round taking place from January 15 to 19, the Vietnamese women's futsal team is in Group D with Macau (China), Taiwan and host Myanmar. On January 15, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team will have their opening match against Myanmar. On January 17, the team will meet Macau (China). Meanwhile, in the final match taking place on January 19, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will face Taiwan.

In terms of strength and class, the Vietnamese women's futsal team is considered superior. In addition, to prepare for the above matches, the Vietnamese girls have had about 6 weeks of careful training.

Before the departure, Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang announced the list of the Vietnamese women's futsal team participating in the Asian qualifiers, including 2 goalkeepers: Tran Thi Hai Yen, Ngo Nguyen Thuy Linh and 10 players: Bui Thi Trang, Trinh Nguyen Thanh Hang, Le Thi Thanh Ngan, Nguyen Phuong Anh, Tran Nguyet Vi, Nguyen Thi Van Anh, K' Thua, Tran Thi Thuy Trang, Tran Thi Lan Mai, Tran Thi Thu Xuan, Nguyen Thi Tu Anh and Bien Thi Hang. He affirmed that the goals and the coaching staff set out in terms of expertise were all well completed by the players and now the whole team is ready for the tournament.

“The 14 players selected for this tournament are those who are in the best form and are in line with the coaching staff’s intentions. The goal of the Vietnamese women’s futsal team is certainly not just to pass the qualifying round but to aim for the top spot in the group. We assess that the opponents in the group are not too superior to the Vietnamese women’s futsal team. Therefore, the whole team and I are determined to complete the set goal,” added coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang.

The 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship Qualifiers kick off on January 11, 2025, with 18 teams taking part. Three teams are exempted from the qualifiers, including the hosts of the finals - China, and the two finalists of the previous tournament, Japan and Iran.

The 18 teams are divided into four groups, including two groups of four teams (groups B and D), and two groups of five teams (groups A and C). Group A will be played centrally in Thailand, group B in Indonesia, group C in Uzbekistan, and group D in Myanmar. After the qualifying round, the first and second teams in each group will be selected to participate in the final round. Along with that, the third-placed team with the best results will participate in the final round taking place in May 2025.
