General Secretary To Lam presented the Decision on renaming the Central Economic Committee along with its functions, tasks, organizational structure, assignment and appointment of the Head and Deputy Heads of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee.

On February 3, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, the Standing Secretariat held a Conference to announce the Politburo 's Decision on the establishment and appointment of personnel for four Party Committees directly under the Central Committee (Party Committees of Party agencies at the Central level, Government Party Committee, National Assembly Party Committee, and Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central mass organizations); on the functions, tasks, powers, organizational structure, and working relationships of three Party agencies at the Central level (Central Party Office, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Central Policy and Strategy Commission).

At the conference, the representative of the Central Organizing Committee announced the decision to change the name of the Central Economic Committee to the Central Policy and Strategy Committee.

The Politburo decided to assign comrade Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Economic Commission, to hold the position of Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission.

The Politburo decided to assign the positions of Deputy Heads of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission to the following comrades: Thai Thanh Quy, member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission; Pham Dai Duong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission.

The Secretariat decided to assign the positions of Deputy Heads of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee to the following comrades: Nguyen Duy Hung, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee; Nguyen Hong Son, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee.
