Successfully energized the project to release capacity of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant

(Chinhphu.vn) - On October 31, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Power Transmission Project Management Board (NPTPMB) coordinated with relevant units to successfully energize the 220 kV Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant - My Xuan branch - Cat Lai transmission line project.

The project's energization meets the direction of the Government and Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) to complete the project in October 2025.

The project is invested by EVNNPT, NPTPMB manages and operates the project on behalf of the investor, and Power Transmission Company 4 manages and operates it after completion.

The project was started in December 2024, passing through Dai Phuoc and Phuoc An communes, Dong Nai province, with a scale of constructing a 220 kV overhead line, originating from Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant connecting to the existing 220 kV My Xuan-Cat Lai line.

Mr. Le Tuan Anh, Deputy Director of NPTPMB said: This is a very important project with the task of releasing the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant into the national power system and ensuring electricity supply for the region.

The project implementation process encountered many difficulties and problems, especially in investment approval procedures and site clearance compensation.

Along with that, the construction conditions of the project are very difficult, the construction terrain is narrow, mainly muddy. The transportation of materials and equipment is mainly by boat, combined with manual labor; in many locations, workers have to manually carry sand, stone, and cement to the route; construction machinery must be transported by barges and boats to be able to access the construction site.

To meet the project's progress, along with implementing compensation and site clearance procedures, NPTPMB has been very active and made efforts to mobilize households whose land is affected to agree to hand over the site to the construction unit.

During the construction work, NPTPMB requested contractors to mobilize maximum manpower, vehicles, and machinery to urgently implement the project with the spirit of "only work, no back-talk", "through holidays and days off". The construction units have worked hard day and night to focus on construction and bring the project to the finish line.

The completion of the project is of great significance in releasing the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant into the national power system; ensuring continuous and safe power supply for the load center of Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring areas. At the same time, strengthening the connection of the 220 kV power system in the area, increasing safety, flexibility in operation and stability for the national power system.
