Agree to let Mr. Dinh Tien Dung resign from the position of Politburo member and Party Central Committee member

On June 21, 2024, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the 13th Party Central Committee met to review and give opinions on personnel work:

Consideration is being given to allowing Comrade Dinh Tien Dung, Member of the Political Bureau and Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi City, to relinquish his leadership positions and retire from his duties.

Comrade Dinh Tien Dung is a high-ranking official of the Party and State, entrusted by the Central Committee of the Party and the Politburo to hold several important leadership positions at the central and local levels. Throughout his career, he has always upheld a high sense of responsibility and made significant contributions to the overall achievements of the agencies, units, and localities where he has worked.

However, according to the report of the Central Inspection Commission , during his tenure as Secretary of the Party Committee and Minister of Finance for the 2016-2021 term, he violated the Regulations on what party members are not allowed to do, the Regulations on exemplary responsibilities, and the Working Regulations; lacked responsibility in leadership and direction, allowing the Party Committee, the Ministry of Finance, and a number of organizations and individuals to commit many violations and shortcomings, causing serious consequences, bad public opinion, and reducing the prestige of the party organization and state management agencies.

Realizing his responsibility to the Party and the people, he submitted a request to resign from his assigned positions and retire from work.

Based on current regulations of the Party and State, and considering the wishes of Comrade Dinh Tien Dung, the Central Committee of the Party agrees to allow Comrade Dinh Tien Dung to relinquish his positions as: Member of the Politburo and Member of the Central Committee of the Party, 13th term.

Also at the meeting, the Central Committee of the Party gave its opinion on personnel for the Politburo to decide on to nominate to the 15th National Assembly to be elected as members of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly, term 2021-2026.
