Expected investment of more than 22,000 billion VND to build Moc Chau - Son La expressway

The Ministry of Construction has just proposed to the Prime Minister to assign the People's Committee of Son La province to be the managing agency of the Moc Chau - Son La expressway construction project, with a total length of about 105km and a total estimated investment of more than 22,000 billion VND.

The project is part of the CT.03 expressway (Hanoi – Hoa Binh – Son La – Dien Bien), which plays the role of a backbone connecting the Northwest region with the capital Hanoi, while expanding the foreign economic corridor with Laos. Of the total length of about 450km of the entire CT.03 route, many sections have been invested in or are being implemented.

The Ministry of Construction proposed to include the project in the medium-term public investment portfolio for the 2026-2030 period, using central budget funds. Assigning the People's Committee of Son La province to manage the project is considered favorable, as this locality has had experience in successfully implementing the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway section before.

The Ministry also emphasized that decentralization of management to localities is in line with the spirit of the 13th Party Congress Resolution, contributing to enhancing proactiveness and shortening investment preparation time.

In the coming time, the People's Committee of Son La province will preside over the organization of detailed surveys, determine the exact total investment, select the investment method and clarify the capital structure. The Ministry of Construction commits to closely coordinate and create conditions for the project to be implemented quickly, effectively and on schedule.
