Expected from April 1st, mid-term population and housing census 2024

Over two days, March 20-21, the Provincial Statistics Department organized a training conference on the 2024 mid-term population and housing census for more than 100 delegates representing leaders of departments and agencies, members of the provincial-level task force directing the implementation of the mid-term population and housing census; leaders of the Statistics Sub-departments of districts, towns, and cities; and provincial and district-level supervisors and enumerators from the Statistics Sub-department of Dong Ha City and Gio Linh District.

The mid-term census and housing survey for 2024 is scheduled to begin on April 1st.

During the training, delegates were introduced to the plan and methodology for the 2024 mid-term census and housing survey, focusing on topics such as: demographics of household members; migration; education ; marriage; birth history of women aged 10-49; deaths in the household; housing and living conditions of the household.

In addition, investigators and supervisors were instructed on various types of survey forms, such as information collection forms for foreigners residing in Vietnam; some notes on the process of collecting, processing, and using survey data; instructions on installing and using electronic survey form software; using the survey operation website; and discussions, exchanges, and answers to any difficulties or problems that may arise in practice.

According to the plan, the data collection period for the survey will begin from April 1st to April 30th, 2024.

The 2024 Mid-Term Population and Housing Census is being conducted nationwide to collect information on population and housing, serving as a basis for evaluating the implementation of the socio-economic development plan for the period 2021-2025; developing policies and plans for population and housing to support the socio-economic development plan for the period 2026-2030; and updating the data warehouse for research, analysis, and forecasting of population and housing development nationwide and in each locality.
