Da Nang tourism promotes tourist sources, prepares to welcome flights from Indonesia

DNVN - In order to promote the flight route from Indonesia scheduled to open in October 2024, from July 16 to 19, Da Nang welcomed a famtrip delegation of 35 travel agencies from the archipelago country to survey tourism products and services in the city and the Central region.

The event was jointly organized by the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center and Hai Van Cat International Travel Joint Stock Company (HAVA Travel), bringing representatives of 35 Indonesian travel agencies to survey prominent destinations in Da Nang such as Son Tra Peninsula, Ba Nas, APEC Park, My Khe Beach, cruise to see the Han River at night and Hoi An ancient town ( Quang Nam ).

The Indonesian famtrip delegation landed at Da Nang International Airport on July 16.

According to Ms. Mai Thi Thanh Hai - Deputy Director of Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, this activity is part of the plan to promote the flight route from Indonesia to Da Nang, expected to open in October 2024. At the same time, it creates a premise to expand the potential international tourist market, aiming to exchange visitors and tourism products with the country of more than 280 million people in the Southeast Asian region.

Mr. Joseph - Asia Regional Business Director of Citilink Airlines, a member of the famtrip delegation, said: Da Nang and Central Vietnam are creating attraction for the Indonesian tourist market. This airline plans to coordinate with travel companies in Da Nang and Central Vietnam to open a flight route from Jakarta to Da Nang in the fourth quarter of 2024, initially operating 2 flights/week and will increase the frequency after developing a stable number of passengers.

Previously, in January 2024, the Da Nang Department of Tourism and the City Tourism Association also coordinated with the Indonesian Travel Association (ASTINDO) to organize a famtrip delegation of 35 representatives of travel agencies from Indonesia to survey tourism in Da Nang and Hoi An and organize a seminar program "Solutions to attract the Indonesian tourist market and promote the opening of flights from Indonesia to Da Nang".

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Xoang - General Director of HAVA Travel, Indonesia is considered a potential market with the 4th largest population in the world and the largest in Southeast Asia with nearly 300 million people. The Muslim tourist market from Indonesia is not too strict, services labeled Halal-friendly will encourage customers to use the service more.

With the orientation of diversifying the source market, focusing on specific markets such as the Muslim market, Da Nang tourism is increasing promotion to the Indonesian market, focusing on developing Halal services. HAVA Travel Company has participated in many activities to introduce Da Nang destinations at tourism fairs in Indonesia.

Da Nang International Airport has put into use prayer rooms to serve Muslim passengers since the beginning of 2023. Along with that, many areas have also put into use restaurants that meet Halal standards to serve customers, accommodation businesses organize prayer rooms and introduce Muslim-friendly services.
