DNVN - To promote the planned flight route from Indonesia, scheduled to launch in October 2024, from July 16-19, Da Nang welcomed a famtrip delegation of 35 travel agencies from the archipelago nation to survey tourism products and services in the city and Central Vietnam.

The event, jointly organized by the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center and Hai Van Cat International Travel Joint Stock Company (HAVA Travel), brought representatives from 35 Indonesian travel agencies to survey prominent destinations in Da Nang such as Son Tra Peninsula, Ba Na Hills, APEC Park, My Khe Beach, a cruise on the Han River at night, and Hoi An Ancient Town ( Quang Nam ).

The Indonesian famtrip group landed at Da Nang International Airport on July 16th.

According to Ms. Mai Thi Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, this activity is part of the plan to promote the flight route from Indonesia to Da Nang, which is expected to launch in October 2024. It also aims to create a foundation for expanding the potential international tourist market, targeting the exchange of tourists and tourism products with a country of over 280 million people in Southeast Asia.

Mr. Joseph, Asia Regional Business Director of Citilink Airlines and a member of the famtrip delegation, stated: Da Nang and Central Vietnam are becoming increasingly attractive to the Indonesian market. The airline plans to collaborate with travel companies in Da Nang and Central Vietnam to launch a route from Jakarta to Da Nang in the fourth quarter of 2024, initially operating two flights per week and increasing frequency once the number of passengers stabilizes.

Previously, in January 2024, the Da Nang Department of Tourism, together with the City Tourism Association, collaborated with the Indonesian Travel Association (ASTINDO) to organize a famtrip for 35 representatives from Indonesian travel agencies to survey tourism in Da Nang and Hoi An, and to hold a seminar on "Solutions to attract the Indonesian tourist market and promote the opening of flight routes from Indonesia to Da Nang".

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Xoang – General Director of HAVA Travel, Indonesia is considered a market with great potential, boasting the world's fourth-largest population and the largest in Southeast Asia with nearly 300 million people. The Muslim tourist market from Indonesia is not overly strict, and services labeled Halal-friendly will encourage tourists to use them more often.

With a focus on diversifying its source markets and prioritizing specific markets such as the Muslim market, Da Nang tourism is intensifying its promotional efforts targeting the Indonesian market, particularly emphasizing the development of Halal services. HAVA Travel has participated in numerous activities promoting Da Nang as a tourist destination at tourism fairs in Indonesia.

Da Nang International Airport put into use a prayer room for Muslim passengers from the beginning of 2023. Along with that, many other locations have also introduced restaurants that meet Halal standards, accommodation businesses have organized prayer rooms and introduced services friendly to Muslim guests.
