Most recently, the 5th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week - 2025 with the theme "Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City Fest" took place from December 5 to 12. The highlight of this Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week is the response and participation of 168 wards, communes, and special zones to promote and welcome domestic and international tourists.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the 2025 Tourism Week holds special significance, marking the first time the program has been organized within a megacity following the administrative reorganization. This is a "golden opportunity" to promote the image of the new city, a vibrant metropolis; to enhance connectivity and develop sustainable tourism.
Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung said that the Tourism Week is not only a series of events to open the festival season, but also a message affirming the city's determination to strongly restore the tourism industry and promote socio -economic growth.
Reality shows that each locality has its own advantages, but when operating alone, resources are dispersed, tourism products are fragmented and lack competitiveness. Therefore, the requirement is to have sustainable "links" between localities, between businesses and management agencies and between people and the entire tourism ecosystem. These models not only help share resources on infrastructure, promotion, and human resource training, but also create more attractive inter-regional products. Instead of each place having its own style, localities begin to sit down to plan a common strategy, come up with a unified identity and build connected products.
Furthermore, business linkages, another crucial link, are gradually proving effective. Previously, travel, transportation, accommodation, and food services often operated independently, resulting in high costs and suboptimal customer experiences. Now, many businesses have collaborated to create comprehensive product packages, ensuring consistent service quality. Tourism associations also play a bridging role, supporting small businesses in accessing markets, participating in international trade fairs, and enhancing their digital capabilities. This collaboration not only helps businesses increase their competitiveness but also promotes sustainable development of the tourism industry.
Entering the year-end tourist season, tourism links established in recent times have begun to show clear effectiveness. Statistics show that Vietnam welcomed more than 19.1 million international visitors in 11 months of 2025, exceeding pre-pandemic levels and setting a new record.
Last Sunday, the international cruise ship Costa Serena (Italian nationality) arrived in Nha Trang on a tour of Vietnam. It is known that the Costa Serena ship carried 2,700 tourists (mainly from Europe). After arriving at the marina in Nha Trang, tourists were organized to visit Long Son Pagoda, a special national monument.
In Hanoi, the introduction of "Heritage tourism itineraries in Hanoi City" took place with 4 unique discovery routes applying digital technology , creating a close connection to help tourists visit and learn about the capital. For example, visitors to Thang Long Tu Tran will be able to explore four sacred temples including Bach Ma, Voi Phuc, Quan Thanh and Kim Lien, honoring the sacred cultural identity and unique spiritual structure of Hanoi. Or the route connecting eight Mother Goddess temples, including the Mother Goddess Temple Lieu Hanh and the Holy Mothers, representing the Tam Phu belief, an intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO... All destinations are applied with QR codes and the H-Haritage platform, supporting tourists to both visit the sites and learn about historical and cultural stories.
