Railways are transporting passengers due to the impact of storm No. 13

Due to the impact of storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi) causing heavy rain and strong winds in the area from Quang Ngai to Tuy Hoa, some railway sections have been severely damaged, disrupting train operations. The Railway Industry is organizing the transfer of passengers on trains passing through the area, from Tuy Hoa station (Dak Lak) to Dieu Tri station (Gia Lai) on November 7.

The Railway Industry is urgently working to fix landslides.

It is expected that on November 7, about 1,500 passengers will be transported. During the waiting time, the Railway industry will serve free snacks and drinks to passengers.

Storm No. 13 caused severe damage to some railway sections, disrupting train operations.

The Railway sector also creates conditions for passengers in the area affected by storm No. 13 to return their tickets free of charge. Specifically, passengers with tickets for Even-numbered trains passing through Tuy Hoa station. Passengers with tickets for Odd-numbered trains passing through Dieu Tri station on November 7 and 8, 2025. Note, the payment time must be before the train departure time stated on the ticket.

According to preliminary statistics, storm Kalmaegi caused severe damage to the railway infrastructure on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line. In particular, at km 1136+850 in the Phuoc Lanh - Van Canh section, the most serious incident occurred with an average depth of about 9 m. In addition, many railway sections had their rock foundations washed away, trees fell across, signal poles were broken, the national grid was cut off, leading to a loss of communication and dispatch, and many signal communication devices were paralyzed due to flooding...

The Railway Industry is urgently repairing the landslides. Due to the deep roadbed and strong water flow, the repair and restoration of the railway will depend on weather conditions and the ability to collect water, so there is no official time for the line to be opened.

Passengers with tickets for the stopped trains can return their tickets free of charge at the railway station, the return time is no more than 30 days, calculated from the date of departure stated on the ticket.
