Construction time for the Song Bui bridge (Bac Tra My) has been extended.

Accordingly, after reviewing the submission from the People's Committee of Bac Tra My district and the report from the Department of Construction regarding the extension of the construction contract for the Song Bui bridge project, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has the following opinion:

Due to several objective reasons such as severely damaged transportation routes, unfavorable weather conditions, adjustments to the M2 pier foundation due to geological differences, and some obstacles related to land clearance, the construction progress has not met the schedule as stipulated in the signed contract.

Based on that, the Provincial People's Committee agreed in principle to extend the construction contract for the Song Bui bridge project as requested by the Department of Construction.

The People's Committee of Bac Tra My district, based on the progress and remaining construction volume of the project, will negotiate and sign an addendum to the contract to adjust the contract implementation time, ensuring that it does not exceed the project implementation time approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 856.

The entire project should be completed promptly, inspected, and put into use to maximize investment efficiency; at the same time, a review and rectification process should be conducted to learn from the mistakes of the organizations and individuals involved who failed to report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval before extending the construction contract period as required.

The Departments of Construction, Transport, and other relevant departments and units, according to their assigned functions and duties, are responsible for monitoring, guiding, inspecting, and supervising the People's Committee of Bac Tra My district in the process of implementing the project in accordance with current legal regulations.

The Song Bui Bridge is approximately 84 meters long; the total estimated investment is 30 billion VND, of which 24 billion VND comes from the provincial budget and the remaining 6 billion VND from the district budget. The project will be implemented from 2022 to 2024.
