Domestic pepper prices updated on the morning of June 2, 2025 |
As of the morning of June 2, the domestic and international pepper markets remained stable and flat compared to yesterday's trading session. However, overall last week, domestic pepper prices decreased by 500 - 2,500 VND/kg compared to the previous week; meanwhile, export prices also decreased by 200 USD/ton.
According to experts, the main reason for the decline in domestic pepper prices is the instability in US tariff policy, which has directly affected market sentiment, making trading and order signing activities more cautious.
Besides, the short-term pepper purchase price depends on the export speed and the stockpiling trend of processing enterprises and international traders.

Since the beginning of 2025, the global pepper market has shown signs of positive recovery, thanks to increased demand from the US and China. However, the growth momentum is slowing down as major importers are cautious about the unclear tariff policy from the US, causing many new contracts to be postponed.
One factor that has put a lot of pressure on the market is the rising cost of logistics. Over the past week, the sea freight rates from Asia to Europe and the US have increased sharply by 20-30%, directly affecting the cost and profit.
