The 2024 National Youth Badminton Championships, part of the national badminton competition system, is considered a large-scale tournament with up to 10 courts. Notably, this year's event attracted nearly 700 athletes from 36 provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide. The tournament was jointly organized by DonexGroup Joint Stock Company, the Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Vietnam Badminton Federation, and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports.
The tournament brings together a large number of outstanding players, promising exciting and dramatic matches. Accordingly, athletes aged 6 to 17 will compete in 5 age groups: U.9 (boys' and girls' singles); U.11 (boys' and girls' singles, boys' and girls' doubles); U.13, U.15, and U.17 (boys' and girls' singles, boys' and girls' doubles, and mixed doubles). The competition will be in a knockout format.
The competition attracted nearly 700 athletes.
The tournament also provides a valuable platform for young athletes.
The National Badminton Championships for Junior Age Groups are organized according to the plan of the Vietnam Badminton Federation, aiming to help young athletes improve their competitive level and professional skills. At the same time, it serves as a basis for checking and evaluating the quality of training and development of athletes by various sectors and localities, thereby discovering and selecting outstanding athletes to join the ranks of the nation's young talent generation.
Immediately following the Opening Ceremony, competitions will take place in the following categories: mixed doubles U.13, boys' singles U.11, girls' doubles U.11, boys' singles U.15, girls' singles U.13, and girls' doubles U.17.
The matches in the tournament promise to be exciting and full of dramatic twists and turns.
