The key to success in karate
The Vietnamese karate team delivered a series of good news as Hoang Thi My Tam (61 kg women), Nguyen Thanh Truong (84 kg men), and Dinh Thi Huong (68 kg women) won gold medals. Along with the two gold medals won on the previous day, Vietnam now has a total of five gold medals at the SEA Games 33. Coaches predict the Vietnamese karate team will win even more gold medals on the final day of competition today, further solidifying their position as the number one team in the region.

Karate achieved tremendous success.
The success of the Vietnamese karate team is due to long-term, systematic, and focused investment in both kata and sparring. Thanks to this, karate has brought Vietnam up to 4 gold medals at the Asian Games. Talents have continuously emerged, from Vu Kim Anh, Vu Thi Nguyet Anh, Le Bich Phuong, and Nguyen Hoang Ngan in the past to Hoang Thi My Tam, Nguyen Thi Phuong, Nguyen Ngoc Tram, and Thu Uyen… currently. Mr. Vu Son Ha, head of the karate department at the Vietnam Sports Department, currently holds the position of President of the Southeast Asian Karatedo Federation and a member of the Executive Committee of the Asian Karatedo Federation, contributing to Vietnam's integration into the international arena.
Vietnamese athletics team breaks SEA Games record.
It was no surprise that Vietnam's track and field queen Nguyen Thi Oanh easily won the gold medal in the 5,000m event. The most impressive achievement for Vietnam in yesterday's competition was the 4x400m mixed relay team winning the gold medal and breaking the SEA Games record.

Cash rewards were given to Nguyen Thi Oanh and Le Thi Tuyet.

With a lineup featuring three new faces – Ta Ngoc Tuong, Le Ngoc Phuc, and Nguyen Thi Ngoc – alongside veteran athlete Nguyen Thi Hang, the Vietnamese 4x400m mixed relay team brilliantly defeated host Thailand, which boasted a very strong naturalized athlete, Atkinson. The Vietnamese runners coordinated well, demonstrating excellent teamwork and consistency, thereby not only winning the gold medal but also breaking the SEA Games record with a time of 3 minutes 15 seconds 07 (the previous record of 3 minutes 19 seconds 29 was set by the Thai team at the 2022 SEA Games).
The success of the mixed 4x400m relay team shows that Vietnamese athletics is well-prepared by investing in new events. Previously, the Vietnamese women's 4x400m relay team excellently won the Asian gold medal with impressive performance, capable of competing for medals at the Asian Games. After winning the gold medal in the mixed 4x400m relay, the Vietnamese athletics team also aims for gold at the SEA Games 33 in the men's 4x100m and 4x400m relays; and the women's 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
