The Viettel Marathon Luang Prabang Unitel 2024 is fast approaching its official race day on November 3rd. Currently, representatives from the organizing committee are in Luang Prabang to carry out promotional activities, preparations, and operational checks for the event.
After more than a week of numerous visits, meetings, and exchanges, the organizing committee of the race has achieved many positive results. One of the activities that was crucial to the success of this race was the visit and working session with high-ranking officials of Luang Prabang province (Laos).
On October 22nd, at the Luang Prabang Provincial Party Committee headquarters, Comrade Khamkhan Chanthavisouk, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary and Governor of Luang Prabang Province, cordially received representatives of the Organizing Committee of the Viettel Marathon Laos leg, including Ms. Bui Thu Huong, Deputy General Director of Vietcontent Joint Stock Company, the organizer of the Viettel Marathon Luang Prabang Unitel 2024; Mr. Dam Van Thanh - Director of Unitel's Luang Prabang Branch - a subsidiary of Viettel Group in Laos; and Mr. Nguyen Viet Anh, Director of the Viettel Marathon project.
At the meeting, representatives from the Viettel Marathon organizing committee presented a progress report on the preparations for the event, the operational plan, and expressed their hope for the support of the local authorities.
After hearing the report on the preparations for the Viettel Marathon Luang Prabang Unitel 2024, Comrade Khamkhan Chanthavisouk expressed his delight that Luang Prabang would be the first location to host the Viettel Marathon series.
According to Mr. Khamkhan Chanthavisouk, this is the first time Luang Prabang has organized a 42.195km road race. Therefore, in addition to the challenges in many aspects, this is also a highlight, making the race an event to promote the image of the land and people, elevate the status of tourism , and gain international recognition. Mr. Khamkhan Chanthavisouk stated that the local government will create the best possible conditions for the organizing committee to complete its work and has agreed to appoint personnel to participate in the race's steering committee.
The organizers of the Viettel Marathon 2024 are deeply grateful for the support and assistance from the local authorities of Luang Prabang. Following the Laos leg, the Viettel Marathon will continue with the Vietnam leg on December 1st and the Cambodia leg on December 22nd, 2024.
