Vietnam Talent Awards: Spreading and connecting the application of scientific and technological research into life

DNVN - On the evening of October 27 in Hanoi, the 18th Vietnam Talent Awards was held, honoring outstanding individuals and groups in the fields of Digital Technology, Medicine, Creative Youth, Dedication Award, Encouragement of Learning - Self-study to become talented.

Attending the event were National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, along with leaders of the Party, State, leaders of Central Committees, Ministries, Branches, Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group ( VNPT ) - co-organizer and main sponsor; prestigious scientists at home and abroad; contestants participating in the Vietnam Talent Awards...

According to the Organizing Committee, in the context of the entire Party and people implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, this year the 18th Vietnam Talent Awards continues to strongly innovate in content and organization, aiming to discover and honor talents associated with three pillars: science - technology - innovation.

The award areas are restructured to match the national development orientation, including: Digital Technology, Medicine, Creative Youth, Encouragement of Learning - Self-study to achieve success and Dedication. In which, Digital Technology continues to be the heart of the Award, reflecting Vietnam's aspiration in the journey of creating a safe and sustainable digital nation - digital society - digital economy.

The 2025 Vietnam Talent Awards awarded the following categories: Digital Technology with 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes, 1 consolation prize; Medicine and Pharmacy: 4 awards; Creative Youth: 1 award; Dedication Award: 2 awards; Encouragement of Learning - Self-study to achieve success: 5 awards.

Speaking at the Award Ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man shared that over the past 20 years, the "Vietnamese Talents" award ceremonies have connected into a series of events of creative research and application of research results to life. The most common characteristic of all the awardees is that they study regularly, work hard, study for real, take real exams, have real talent, combine study with practice, conduct scientific research and create new knowledge right in the production process, taking serving people's lives as the purpose of their activities.

Many applied projects or potential projects have reached the market of some countries such as: Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, India, UK, Italy and even countries with very high technology requirements such as Japan, USA. Many highly applicable products, with organizations awarded, have been ranked in the top 5 high-tech enterprises in the Asia-Pacific region or the top 100 typical industrial enterprises globally.

Regarding the 2025 Award, the National Assembly Chairman welcomed the Organizing Committee for choosing the theme "AI and Big Data - Breakthrough Technology", aiming to promote solutions applying core technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, internet of things, quantum computing, contributing directly to the construction of digital economy, digital society, ensuring data safety, network security, enhancing national governance capacity and improving service quality for people and businesses.

Digital Technology - The Heart of Vietnamese Talents

Hosted by the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), this year's Digital Technology category has the theme: "AI and Big Data - Breakthrough Technology", aiming to promote the application of core technologies such as AI, Big Data, Blockchain, Cloud, IoT, quantum computing... in management, production and life practices. The award encourages highly applicable products serving the Digital Government, Digital Economy, Digital Society, ensuring data security, network security, contributing to improving governance capacity and service quality for people and businesses.

The Digital Technology sector attracts many products from young authors aged 16–30.

The year 2025 recorded 168 entries in the Digital Technology field - a number that demonstrates the strong attraction and increasing prestige of the Vietnam Talent Award. After the Preliminary round, the 17 best products were selected by the Jury to enter the Final round and had a dramatic, intellectual and creative live defense before the Final Round Council on October 25, 2025 to find the most worthy faces for the Vietnam Talent Cup 2025.

This year, the Digital Technology field is particularly vibrant, attracting many products from young authors aged 16-30, including many high school students, university students and Vietnamese technology startups. The participation of young people shows that the Award has become a source of inspiration and a launching pad for a new generation of creators, while also reflecting the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship that is spreading strongly in the Vietnamese technology community.

Special areas of honor

Dedication Award: Launched for the first time, honoring scientists, experts, and veteran teachers who have devoted their lives to research and training, leaving behind a lasting legacy of knowledge for the country.

Medical Award: Honoring outstanding research projects that have been applied in practice, achieving new achievements in the Vietnamese medical industry, bringing very practical results in the cause of caring for and protecting people's health.

Creative Youth Award: For outstanding young scientists selected by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, representing the new generation who dare to think, dare to do, and contribute to the community.

Encouragement of Learning Award - Self-study to achieve success: Honoring talents with the spirit of self-study and self-research who have made efforts to overcome difficulties to create products and projects that bring direct benefits to the local community and neighboring areas.
