Discount on reprinted textbooks for the 2024-2025 school year

NDO - In the 2024-2025 school year, the VietnamEducation Publishing House will adjust the selling price of reprinted textbooks according to the 2018 General Education Program for grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11; at the same time, it will build the selling price of textbooks for grades 5, 9, 12 (published in the first year) according to the reduced price structure of reprinted textbooks. The cover price of the book sets will be reduced by about 10%.

On June 1, the Vietnam Education Publishing House said it had reviewed related cost items, especially costs for organizing manuscripts and circulation costs to reduce textbook prices according to the 2018 General Education Program.

Accordingly, the new cover prices of reprinted textbooks applied from the 2024-2025 school year have been adjusted down compared to previous years. These are textbooks for grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11.

Specifically, the cover price of the textbook series Connecting Knowledge with Life decreased by 9.6%, and the cover price of the series Creative Horizon decreased by 11.2%.

For textbook prices for grades 5, 9, and 12, which are the first year classes implementing the 2018 General Education Program, Vietnam Education Publishing House has built prices according to the reduced price structure of reprinted textbooks.

Vietnam Education Publishing House added that the price of textbooks for each class has been declared by the Publishing House to the Price Management Department, Ministry of Finance according to regulations.

The reduction in textbook prices is to implement the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training on strictly controlling production costs, reducing costs to reduce textbook prices, supporting consumers, ensuring social security; and implementing the recommendations of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

"This is a great effort of the entire Vietnam Education Publishing House system to have the lowest textbook prices, with the goal of supporting teachers and students, ensuring social security" - said a representative of Vietnam Education Publishing House.

To protect the rights of students and users, the new price list of textbooks is fully and publicly posted at points of sale nationwide and on the Publisher's general electronic information page at www.nxbgd.vn; as well as information on mass media according to regulations.

In order to create a source of learning and teaching materials for students and teachers to use in school libraries, in the 2024-2025 school year, Vietnam Education Publishing House plans to donate about 1,000 shared textbook cabinets to primary and secondary schools in disadvantaged areas, remote areas, border areas, islands... in provinces and cities nationwide with a total cover price of about 30 billion VND. In the 2023-2024 school year, Vietnam Education Publishing House donated 1,000 shared textbook cabinets to primary schools in disadvantaged areas nationwide.
