Hanoi focuses on preventing the risk of bird flu transmission to humans

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen has just signed Official Dispatch No. 533/UBND-KTN requesting departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to strengthen the prevention and control of avian influenza.

According to Official Dispatch No. 533, the Hanoi People's Committee requested districts, towns and cities to prioritize the allocation of resources and funding to direct the drastic and synchronous implementation of measures to prevent and control avian influenza in accordance with the direction of the Central Government and Hanoi City.

Strengthen disease surveillance, promptly detect and handle outbreaks; strictly handle cases of non-declaration, concealment of epidemics, transportation and consumption of sick poultry. Establish working groups to inspect and urge the prevention and control of avian influenza in localities.

The Hanoi People's Committee requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to closely monitor the epidemic situation; take regular samples for testing, warn and provide instructions on thoroughly handling newly emerging outbreaks, and prevent the disease from spreading widely.

Closely coordinate with the Department of Health to monitor and supervise epidemics, promptly detect suspected human cases and promptly implement isolation and treatment measures. At the same time, promote information and propaganda on measures to prevent and combat avian influenza transmission from animals to humans.
