Hanoi: Established 34 grassroots unions with 2,126 union members

On the morning of September 25, the Hanoi City Labor Federation (HLF) announced the decision to establish 34 grassroots unions with 2,126 union members.

34 grassroots trade unions with 2,126 union members under the Hanoi City Labor Confederation have legal status, use their own seals, open bank accounts, and perform duties and powers according to the provisions of law and the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Tong Van Bang - Head of the Labor Relations Department (Vietnam General Confederation of Labor) highly appreciated the efforts and close coordination of units, enterprises and the Hanoi City Labor Federation in establishing grassroots unions. "The establishment of grassroots unions not only creates conditions for union members and workers to ensure their legitimate and legal rights but also contributes to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations. This is an important foundation to promote sustainable development in agencies, units and enterprises", said Comrade Tong Van Bang.

Representing the newly established grassroots unions, Deputy Head of the Station - President of the Vinh Tuy Ward Health Station Union Cung Thi Quynh Hoa affirmed that immediately after stabilizing the organizational structure, the Vinh Tuy Ward Health Station Union will proactively coordinate with the local government to better care for the lives and promptly resolve the legitimate concerns and aspirations of union members and workers.

Regarding the issue of strengthening grassroots trade unions, comrade Le Dinh Hung - Permanent Vice Chairman in charge of the Hanoi City Labor Federation said that in recent times, the collective of cadres and experts of the City Labor Federation have worked regardless of holidays and breaks to speed up work progress, especially union finance work and establishment of grassroots trade unions. Up to now, the City Labor Federation is managing over 6,400 grassroots trade unions, with hundreds of thousands of union members, covering most fields and industries in the capital. This is an impressive number, reflecting the sense of responsibility and determination of the union cadres in performing assigned tasks.

The establishment of 34 grassroots unions clearly shows the important role of the Hanoi City Labor Federation in bringing the union organization closer to the workers. The Capital Labor Union is not only a place to gather and unite workers, civil servants and laborers, but also a solid support, helping them feel secure in their work and have a long-term commitment to their units and businesses.
