On the morning of December 11th, at the Temple of Literature - National University, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a ceremony to launch the 2025 national excellent student teams, and also honored and awarded prizes to students with outstanding achievements in national and international competitions, as well as the teachers leading the teams.
The total amount of bonuses the city spent on this occasion was approximately 30 billion VND, of which the bonuses for teachers were 70% of the bonuses for students, equivalent to 9.4 billion VND.
The teams of teachers leading the biology and chemistry teams won the highest rewards, amounting to 805 million VND and 749 million VND respectively.

The bonus amount is applied according to Resolution 40 of the Hanoi City People's Council issued in December 2024.
According to this Resolution, the city will award a maximum of 300 million VND to students who win gold medals at international Olympiads and a minimum of 10 million VND to students who win first prize in city-level academic competitions and scientific research competitions at the junior high school level.
This year, Hanoi has 13 national teams of outstanding students with 437 contestants, the highest number ever. This includes 140 12th-grade students, 104 11th-grade students, and 3 10th-grade students.
95% of the students come from specialized schools. Only 4 non-specialized schools made the list: Newton, Luong The Vinh - Cau Giay, Hoang Long, and Quang Trung - Ha Dong.

The candidates are concentrating their exam preparation at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students. The total number of preparation sessions exceeds 1,000, with approximately 300 sessions taught directly by leading professors, associate professors, and doctors in their respective fields.
Hanoi aims to win more than 200 national-level awards for outstanding students this school year.
The national high school student excellence competition took place on December 25-26 with 13 subjects including: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
Except for the computer science exam, which involves programming on a computer, candidates for the remaining 12 subjects will take written exams on December 25th.
On December 26th, contestants from the mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and foreign language teams competed in the second round of the competition.
This year, the country has 42 participating units, including 34 provinces and cities and 8 teams from universities.
