(Dan Tri) - Taking advantage of the darkness and carelessness, Nguyen Duc Hiep invited his younger brother to steal nearly half a ton of coffee from a garden owner in Dak Doa district, Gia Lai province.
On November 29, Dak Doa District Police, Gia Lai Province announced that they had arrested two suspects, Nguyen Van Duc (born 1994) and Nguyen Van Hiep (born 1996), both residing in An Hoa Commune, Kim Son District, Ninh Binh Province, to investigate the act of property theft.
Previously, in early November, Ms. T. in Bong Lar village, Ia Bang commune, Dak Doa district, hired Nguyen Van Duc to be a worker to harvest and look after her 6 hectares of coffee, to prevent theft at night.

Because he did not see Ms. T. checking at night, Duc called his younger brother, Nguyen Van Hiep, to steal the coffee. After stealing, the two brothers sold the coffee to get money for personal expenses.
In total, the two brothers stole three times, with a total weight of nearly half a ton of coffee from Ms. T's farm. On November 28, both were arrested by the police.
According to Dak Doa District Police, there have been many similar incidents in the area where garden owners hired people from other places to work without knowing their background and without registering their temporary residence. The hired workers then stole property and fled, making it difficult for the police to investigate and arrest them.
The district police recommended that households build fences, build huts, and install security cameras to prevent theft in their coffee gardens. At the same time, the police also reminded garden owners to carefully select workers, thoroughly research their backgrounds, and register their temporary residence with the police when hiring workers.
