This year, the Mathematics Department has 28 candidates proposed by the Faculty Council to be recognized as meeting the standards of professors and associate professors. Of these, 4 candidates are proposed to be recognized as meeting the standards of professors, 24 candidates are proposed to be recognized as meeting the standards of associate professors.

The two youngest associate professor candidates in Mathematics were both born in 1987, Dr. Pham Viet Hung and Dr. Dao Tuan Anh.

Dr. Dao Tuan Anh, from Tan Tien commune, Van Giang district, Hung Yen province, graduated with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, majoring in Mathematics Pedagogy - High Quality from Hanoi National University of Education in 2009; Graduated with a master's degree in Mathematics, majoring in Applied Mathematics and Informatics from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (now Hanoi University of Science and Technology) in 2011. In 2020, Dao Tuan Anh was awarded a doctorate in Differential and Integral Equations from Bergakademie Freiberg University of Technology, Germany.

Currently, Dr. Dao Tuan Anh is a lecturer at the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Dr. Dao Tuan Anh's main research direction is sigma-evolutionary equations with different mechanisms and corresponding weak pair equation systems.

Research directions for these classes of equations include: Estimating the reduced (optimal) solution and its derivatives for the corresponding linear equations, and describing the asymptotic behavior of the solution; Proving the existence or non-existence of a global solution (over time) with small initial data and estimating the maximum time when the global solution does not occur or when the explosion of the solution occurs.
