Airlines begin selling Tet flight tickets

On September 3, Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and Vasco opened early ticket sales for Lunar New Year 2026, with more than 3.5 million seats.

Accordingly, during the peak period from February 2, 2026 to March 3, 2026, more than 3.5 million seats will be sold on the entire domestic and international flight network, an increase of nearly 20% over the same period last year.

Peak flight routes will be concentrated between three major cities: Hanoi , Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and key localities such as Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Hue, Quy Nhon, Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc...

Of which, the number of seats supplied on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route increased by nearly 18%; the Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang route increased by nearly 9%; the routes between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, and Hue increased from 9% to 13% over the same period.

During the 2026 Lunar New Year, the proportion of night flights will account for nearly 20% of the total number of flights. Exploiting this additional time slot will help optimize operational capacity, reduce daytime pressure and create more flexibility for passengers.

This is the first round of ticket sales based on the approved flight schedule. Airlines will continue to monitor market demand, balance aircraft resources and allocate flight plans to open the next rounds of sales, making it easier for people to plan their travel during Tet.

Airlines recommend that passengers proactively plan and book tickets early to have a suitable itinerary; only buy tickets through ticket offices, official agents or on the airline's mobile application or website to avoid the risk of fake tickets or tickets being overpriced during peak seasons.
