On the morning of December 4, local authorities of Ham Thang ward and Ham Liem commune urgently evacuated hundreds of households to safety.
In Ham Thang ward, as soon as he received the flood discharge notice, the Chairman of Ham Thang ward People's Committee signed an order to evacuate people urgently. According to many people in the Kim Ngoc Church area, from 4 am they proactively packed up their belongings and hired trucks to collect their belongings to escape the flood after receiving the notice from the authorities.



Mr. Doan Nguyen Xuan Hoang, Vice Chairman of Ham Thang Ward People's Council, is monitoring the Kim Ngoc neighborhood and is guiding people to evacuate. He said: The entire neighborhood has 270 households. Up to now, more than 95 households have been relocated to the Kim Ngoc Church area. The remaining households in low-lying areas are continuing to collect their belongings and move.


In Kim Binh ward, the local government is assisting in the evacuation of 232 households with more than 860 people. The water is rising rapidly, causing flooding in many residential groups in other ward areas including Phu Hoa, Phu Thinh, Phu An, Phu Xuan and Phu My. Many crop areas are deeply flooded and affecting people's houses.


In Ham Liem commune, 300 households were evacuated this morning (December 4) due to the risk of water from Song Quao lake continuing to rise. According to forecasts, the water flow into the lake is still increasing, the risk of flooding is still complicated.
The leaders of Ham Thang ward and Ham Liem commune have mobilized local forces and rescue vehicles to evacuate people from areas at risk of deep flooding and strong currents. The grassroots political system is being fully activated, divided into many teams to closely follow the area to support people at temporary shelters, making efforts to ensure the supply of food, drinking water and necessary necessities.
