The Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Union has just issued a plan to organize the "Students with the Aspiration for the Nation" journey, leading up to the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).
The program aims to disseminate information and educate association officials, members, and students about the purpose, significance, and value of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the patriotic historical tradition, to promote revolutionary heroism, and to affirm the great historical significance, scale, and value of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
Promoting the spirit of solidarity, dynamism, and creativity, and expressing profound gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives and blood for the cause of national liberation, building and protecting the Fatherland.
Along with that is the awareness of protecting national sovereignty and border security among students, affirming the role of Vietnamese students in their determined studies, emulating the spirit of previous generations of students and young heroic role models.
According to the plan, the journey to the roots will involve 200 delegates (70 delegates participating in the journey and 130 delegates who are students from Dien Bien province).
The trip will take place from April 25th to April 28th at locations including Dien Bien Phu city and Muong Nha district (Dien Bien province).
During the trip, students will have the opportunity to participate in activities that ignite the tradition of "Students with aspirations for the nation," and visit historical sites and revolutionary landmarks associated with the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
At the same time, they visited the A Pa Chai Border Guard Post (Muong Nha District), donated resources, and coordinated the construction of a sovereignty flagpole in A Pa Chai commune on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
In addition, the students will also participate in social welfare activities in Muong Nha district, contributing to the protection of sovereignty, socio-economic development, and caring for families of policy beneficiaries and those who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution.
