Haus Da Lat was meticulously designed by legendary designer Kengo Kuma over five years of research with his team, bringing to life a design language and artistry unique to Da Lat.
This is what makes it so valuable, transforming the project into one of Kengo Kuma's most iconic art museums in the heart of Da Lat city.
Kengo Kuma's masterpiece amidst the heritage region of Da Lat.
Kengo Kuma is known as a contemporary Japanese architect who pursues sustainable architectural forms through the use of materials, demonstrating respect for nature and local cultural characteristics. This aligns with The One Destination - the developer of Haus Da Lat - a pioneer in creating the first ESG real estate project in Vietnam.

Haus Da Lat's architecture and landscape design were penned by Kengo Kuma. Kuma asserts that this is the city's largest "pine forest conservation" project, creating a deep connection between people and nature, while blurring the boundaries between architectural structures and the landscape environment.

Welcoming residents and visitors of Haus Da Lat each day is a floral gate with a unique arched design made from thinly sliced, hand-bent natural wood, combined with special wood treatment techniques from Kengo Kuma, creating a lasting impression that remains unaffected by weather and the environment.
Flowers, arranged by artisans in collaboration with Kengo Kuma's landscape partner, are planted to bloom year-round across the gate's surface, beginning the art exhibition journey from the very first steps into Haus Da Lat.

Passing through the flower-decorated gate, visitors and residents can stroll through the city's largest "pine forest conservation project," interspersed with unique coffee stations. These coffee stations, designed in the art of Japanese paper folding, can be closed at night.

Residents can also rest at shaded resting areas under the pine trees, designed with inspiration from butterfly-shaped domes up to 5.3 meters high, handcrafted from individual artistic wooden blocks. This is also a highlight in Kengo Kuma's distinctive material arrangement art specifically for Haus Da Lat.
"The structures don't need to be massive to be impressive. Instead, we focus on subtlety and detail, creating a hidden beauty that users only realize when they experience it firsthand," Kengo Kuma shared.
Blurring the lines between architecture and landscape.
Haus Da Lat comprises 3 luxury apartment buildings with 68 Sky Villas and Sky Mansions with permanent ownership, a shopping mall, and a resort complex featuring the InterContinental brand, making its debut in Da Lat.
The entire Haus Da Lat project, designed by Kengo Kuma, draws inspiration from the image of pine forests and pine cones to create a distinctive architectural symbol. With its sophisticated arrangement of natural materials, this project will challenge both construction materials and visual art.
Kuma explained that the pine cones (often called pine cones) have a complex yet humble structure amidst the vast green pine forest. The exterior of the building is impressively designed with staggered balconies resembling the scales of a pine cone.

"The balcony system acts as a buffer space protecting the house from the external environment. It creates shade, limiting direct sunlight from entering the house, thus keeping the living space cooler. Later, the growing shrubs will redirect sound so that the interior of the house remains quiet and peaceful, while also providing privacy for each Sky Villas & Sky Mansions," Kengo Kuma shared.

Kengo Kuma loves wood as a material and always strives to make it unique and special. At Haus Da Lat, instead of simply using raw concrete, Kuma applies a technique of printing and assembling individual wood grain patterns onto the building's surface. This technique not only softens the exterior design but also creates a warm and natural surface, harmonizing with the surrounding environment.

The building's central lobby features a design divided into multiple stacked layers, evoking the image of spreading tree canopies. This not only enhances aesthetics but also improves ventilation and provides natural shade. It serves as both a visual symbol and shapes a warm space to welcome residents back home.

At the Haus Residences lobby, Kengo Kuma chose marble and a wooden ceiling designed in the Naguri style using handcrafted techniques (manipulating the wood surface to create indentations and shadows that reflect natural light from outside, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere inside).
To ensure that the finished project meets aesthetic and construction quality standards as per the blueprints, Kengo Kuma, in collaboration with The One Destination, brought skilled Japanese artisans to Vietnam to execute the special details as well as the overall architecture of the building, so that each house is a work of art.
| Haus Da Lat enhances the beauty of Da Lat. |
"With lush green gardens, trees, and flowers integrated into every area of the project, Haus Da Lat offers a close connection with nature, reflecting the characteristic climate and vegetation of the highlands. This, combined with a design that blurs the boundaries between architecture and nature, will make Haus Da Lat a new architectural masterpiece in Vietnam," Kuma said about his landmark design in Da Lat.
| Haus Da Lat incorporates elements of many world legends. |
Beyond its exquisite architecture, Haus Da Lat also features collaborations with Isometrix Lighting & Design, the world-renowned lighting wizard behind famous buildings; 1508 London, the space design artist behind the billionaires; and Chiva-Som, a leading global health and wellness expert. All of this will transform Haus Da Lat into a heritage site, placing Da Lat in particular, and Vietnam in general, on the map of top global destinations.
