A view of the event.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Le Toan Thang, Director of the National Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support, Ministry of Science and Technology , stated: The theme of TECHFEST 2025 is "Innovative Entrepreneurship for All - A New Driving Force for Growth," reflecting the orientation to strengthen innovation capacity nationwide, while also identifying entrepreneurship as a driving force for job creation, value generation, and sustainable growth.
The "K-Startup Demo Day and Launch of the Innovation Startup Ecosystem Overview Report" initiative is designed to help international innovation initiatives and outstanding startups from Korea get closer to the real needs of the Vietnamese market. By connecting these startups with local investors, businesses, and experts, we create opportunities for new solutions to be tested, refined, and flourish more widely nationwide. This makes the program a practical embodiment of TECHFEST's mission: Expanding innovation beyond borders and transforming it into growth for the entire country.
The "K-Startup Demo Day and Announcement of the Comprehensive Report on the Innovative Startup Ecosystem" program consists of two main parts.
The K-Startup Demo Day showcased numerous technology solutions from Korean startups aimed at meeting real-world needs in Vietnam. These solutions not only have business growth potential but can also address specific challenges in various industries and communities in Vietnam, aligning with the goal of making entrepreneurship a new growth engine.

Five aspects of Vietnam's innovative startup ecosystem in 2025.
The second item on the agenda was the announcement of the Vietnam Innovation Startup Ecosystem Overview Report 2025. The report shows that after more than 10 years of development, Vietnam's startup ecosystem has entered a phase of extensive growth, with over 4,000 startups, including two unicorns and many near-unicorn companies. Vietnam continues to be recognized as an emerging technology investment destination in Southeast Asia.
During the 2024–2025 period, the ecosystem will focus on developing in-depth solutions in the fields of Deeptech, Greentech, Fintech, and AI, according to the 5P assessment framework: Policy, progress, finance, sustainability, and human resources.
At the central level, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance have implemented numerous cooperation programs and support policies, including the P4G Summit, the Economist Up competition, Decree 198/2025/ND-CP on the development of the private economy, and Decree 97/2025/ND-CP on preferential mechanisms for innovative startups at the National Innovation Center.
Locally, startup incubation and support activities are expected to increase significantly in 2025, but are mainly concentrated in the Southeast and Red River Delta regions. The Central Highlands and the Northern mountainous areas still lack resources and expertise.
The year 2025 also witnessed a surge in open innovation activities, with many major events such as the National Innovation Day, the VIIE 2025 Exhibition, and the OID 2025 Open Innovation Day. The report also identified eight potential startup sectors, including: climate technology, creative economy , technology for the elderly, educational technology, plastics industry innovation, women-led businesses, electric vehicles, and the Vietnamese startup community abroad…/.
