Coach Shin Tae Yong was fired by Ulsan HD Club after only 65 days of cooperation following a series of poor results. However, according to Korean press, the Korean strategist lost his job not because of his expertise but also because of the scandal at the club, which has shaken Korean football in recent times.

Recently, Ulsan HD player Lee Chung Yong caused a sensation with his golf-style celebration. According to South Korean media, the 37-year-old star was mocking coach Shin Tae Yong, who was recently sacked by the club.
Before coach Shin Tae Yong lost his job, a photo of him carrying a golf bag on the team bus went viral on Korean social media, raising suspicions that he was playing golf while Ulsan HD played away games.
After the photo was released, coach Shin Tae Yong explained that he was carrying his son's golf bag when he happened to pass by their house in Seongnam. However, this explanation failed to convince the players, including Lee Chung Yong.
According to former Ulsan HD CEO Kim Kwang Guk (who resigned immediately after coach Shin Tae Yong was fired), the controversy over the "golf bag" was not the main reason for coach Shin Tae Yong's dismissal.

"He was fired because his management style, including how he treated the players, didn't align with the club's direction," said Kim Kwang Guk. Kim also received complaints from several players that Coach Shin Tae Yong's training methods were no longer suitable for modern football and were only appropriate for "young players and students."
According to Kim Kwang Guk, Coach Shin Tae Yong constantly verbally abused the players and engaged in various behaviors such as pinching their ears and lightly hitting them to "discipline" them. He added, "We warned Coach Shin Tae Yong both verbally and in writing that he was not allowed to hit the players." He added that such "discipline" methods as verbal abuse, ear pinching, or light hitting players are only appropriate for the older generation.
Tensions escalated when coach Shin Tae Yong dropped several veteran players due to poor physical condition. This led to a rift between the two sides. Afterwards, this group of players voted to fire the coach born in 1971.
Lee Chung Yong once said about the hidden meaning: "Then everyone will know who is more sincere, the coach or the player".

Notably, after coach Shin Tae Yong left, Ulsan HD soared. They secured two consecutive victories against Gwangju (Korean league) on October 19th and Sanfrecce Hiroshima (AFC Champions League Elite) on October 21st.
After being fired by Ulsan HD Club, Coach Shin Tae Yong hinted at the possibility of returning to work in Indonesia. However, President of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), Erick Thohir quickly denied this information.
